Week 783 – Februar 28th, 2026

Anaïs is topping the chart for a 2nd week in row with her single “Fremdknutschen” (#1, “Snog someone else”). This had been a very tough decision as “Opalite” (#2) Taylor Swift’s climbed up one spot and attacked the top spot. Also new at the podium is “To love somebody” (#3) by Holly Humberstone. Both songs I predicted a good chance for reaching the #1. There is a big question mark about my last week’s prediction. There is a new song debuting directly in the Top 10. It is “Dance alone” (#4) by South Korean singer Zior Park from the Soundtrack “Can this love be translated?”. For him it is his first chart appearance, but more a little bit later. Dropping three spots is former #1 “I knew it, I know you” (#5) Gracie Abrams.

Another former #1 song had to leave the Top 5. It is “Ich bin” (#6, “I am”) by LEA. Up three spots and knocking at the door to the Top 5 is “All my life” (#7) by Robbie Williams. Gracie Abrams’ other Top 10 hit “Though love” (#8) dropped three spots and is followed by two more new songs in this part of the chart. Anouk is back with her song “Losing my mind” (#9) after climbing up seven spots in its 8th charting week. Up 11 spots and into this part is “Elizabeth Taylor” (#10) which is now the 3rd Top 10 hit from her latest album “The life of a showgirl”.

For this week’s greatest gainer, you must look down the chart. It is country song “Blame it on my broken heart” (#63) by Avery Anna. As always this is followed by the highest debut. This week there is one within the Top 10 as I pointed out above. Last week I wrote that there will be several KPOP debuts over the next week, but I hadn’t this top debut on my list. For the first time in over a decade I watched a K-Drama. My first had been “Cunning single lady” back in 2014. Now I returned with “The Art of Sarah” which is a crime/mystery TV Series on Netflix. This watch led me to the recommendation of “Can this love be translated?” which is a romantic comedy. I gave it a chance, and I really enjoyed this show. In the 2nd episode the show featured Zior Park’s “Dance alone” and what should I say. I directly fell in love with this one. This song also replaced my ringtone on my smartphone which had been “Torpedo” (#1 in 2013 for six weeks and year-end #1) since 2013. So, what can I say I really believe that this one will hit one with the next weeks. “Dance alone” isn’t the only song out of this soundtrack debut this week. The 2nd best debut is “Daydream” (#16) by Wendy from Red Velvet. For her it is the first appearance on my chart too as a solo artist. As member of Red Velvet she also failed to enter the chart. In middle of the chart siso got his debut with “Bittersweet” (#57). And there three more debuts from this soundtrack which are “Lay down together” (#94) by off the menu, “Good bye” (#95) by We Are The Night and “Round and round” (#96) by JISOKURY. The show’s opening song “Language of love” by Kim Min-seok failed to enter my chart although this one did well in Korea.

Now lets focus on the K-Pop and Asian Pop debuts in this week’s edition. The highest one is “WANT” (#56) by Solar. For the leading vocalist of Mamamoo this is her 3rd solo appearance on my chart following the 2022 entries “Honey” and “Paradise”. Then there is i-dle (formally known as (G)I-dle) with their song “Girlfriend” (#83). MEOVV are giving their debut with “Hands up” (#84). From Japan is “On the island” (#93) by Japanese-American Ashley and Japanese-Mexican singer AKLO.

And then there is the start of the Eurovision Song Contest entries. In Austria there had been a show for the election. Out of this show three songs managed to get their debut. The highest one is “Wenn ich rauche” (#52, “When I smoke”) by Sidrit Vokshi. Then there is finalist Lena Schaur with her song “Painted reality” (#88) and “Superhuman” (#92) by Anna-Sophie. Other debuts are “Erst wenn die Sonne” (#75, “Only when the sun”) by SOPHIA, “Touch me like a gangster” (#81) and “Heroin” (#82) by Jessie Murphy.
