Week 85 – October 13th, 2012

After breaking the record last week, this week the run at #1 is ending for Cover Drive feat. Dappy. But who knows, maybe they are back next week. This week “Explode” is only at the runner’s up position. New at #1 is US-Star Taylor Swift. With her fourth charting song she earns the #1 for the first with “We are never ever getting back together”. Unfortunately this song didn’t reach the Austrian Chart until now while this song is a hit in Germany and Switzerland. Replacing Chris Wallace at #3 are Parade. Their song “Light me up” is making them the first girl band reaching the Top 3. The Korean girl band Wonder girls missed the Top 5 a few weeks ago with “Like money”. Also climbing up is Kate Voegele. “Sunshine in my sky” is now at #4 and this song is another #1 candidate. There are no new songs within the Top 10, but Pink with “Blow me (one last kiss)” and Emma with “Senza averti mai” are on their way down.

Since weeks Sam Gray is knocking at the door to the Top 10. This week his is back at #11 with “This girl”. Unfortunately he got big concurrence. The first comes from this week’s shooting star. 21-year-old Swedish newcomer Miriam Bryant debuted last week at #83. With her beautiful voice and this beautiful song “Finders keepers” she climbed to #12. This week’s greatest gainer is followed by the highest new entry. It’s “Your body” by Christina Aguilera. It’s her first charting hit since “Moves like Jagger” last year. Christina Aguilera isn’t the only superstar returning or debuting to my chart this week. At #44 Adele is debuting with “Skyfall”. Last year she had three #1 songs including the 2011 year end #1 “Turning tables”. Everything is arranged that this song could be her next top hit.

But the superstar concurrence is large this week. So Robbie Williams’ first solo single since the re-union of Take That is his chart debut. “Candy” is already an airplay hit in Austria, but until today it failed to chart which is only a matter of time. “Candy” debuts at #54. Beside Christina Aguilera, Adele and Robbie Williams Bruno Mars presented his new single “Locked out of heaven” (#60). And speaking of superstars I’m not allowed to forget Alanis Morissette. This week she placed two album cuts of her new album “Havoc and bright lights” in the countdown. “Woman down” starts at #38 and “ ‘til you” at #51.

The rest of this week’s debuts are Camryn with “Now or never” (#72), Gin Wigmore (#81), Haley Ray with “Blow my mind” (#85), Sara Nardelli with “Brennender Asphalt” (Burning asphalt, #86), Anna Depenbusch with “Sommer aus Papier” (Summer made of paper, #93), Prey with “Running dry” (#96) and Ryan Cabrera with “I see love” (#98).
