Week 125 – July 20th, 2013

In a more tougher decision than you can imagine Satin Circus hold #1 with “Emma”. So Matt Cardle is still in the runner’s up position with “It’s only love”. This week there are only position changes in the Top 10. The Top 3 remains steady. Alanis Morissette reached almost the Top 5 with “Empathy” (#6). She is followed by another climber. Portuguese singer Aurea climbed up one spot with “Nothing left to say” (#7). On the way out of the Top 10 are two former #1’s. In its 18th week on chart Pink feat. Lily Rose Cooper dropped two spots with “True love” (#8). Also Kelly Clarkson’s “People like us” (#9) is probably in his last top 10 week. Beside this bad news for Kelly Clarkson there are some good news for her. Her other three charting songs are still climbing up the chart. If these songs continue the uptrend they should be in the Top 20 by next week.

For the Backstreet Boys a first Top 10 hit is going more and more realistic. “In a world like this” (#11) knocks heavily at this door. The Top 10 could include more Rock songs next week. Hinder’s Rock song “Should have known better” (#13) continued the upswing of the last few weeks. And the Pop/Rock song “All over now” (#14) by Daniel Baron has also a good chance to reach this section in the next weeks. Speaking about good chances I have to mention that Celeste Buckingham and Majk Spirit are doing better than expected with their song “I was wrong” (#21). For Celeste Buckingham could it be her 2nd Top 20 hit following her last years #1 smash hit “Run run run”.

This week there are two songs which climbed 15 spots to get the greatest gainer of the week. Pink’s latest charting hit “How come you’re not here” (#43) reached the Top 50 while doyen Joe Cocker sprinted up this week with “I come in peace” (#69). The highest new entry comes from Sweden. This week there are several debuts by Swedish songs. The widely unknown Swedish band The Neverdies did best. Their song “Miss U” (#37) is a catchy tune with a whistling part which makes this song unique. “Miss U” is the only song which debuts within the Top 50.

The next best new entry can be found down the chart and comes from the new chart sensation Tich. Her last two tracks from her debut EP “Candlelight” are debuting this week. These are “Kingdom” (#73) and “Little by little” (#74). For the first time in my 2nd chart area Britney Spears is on the list. The title track for the film “The Smurfs 2” “Ooh la la” (#78) finally debuts. In the 1990’s and early 2000’s when I first did a chart she had a lot of top 10 hits. Although she had some good songs over the years I have certainly lost the interest in her music. Maybe the Smurfs theme is changing this.

Other new entries are “One night” (#81) by Bella Roth, “#fail” by Oscar Zia, “Rollin’ ” (#83) by iSH feat. Stef Lang, “Games” (#93) by Claire, “I’m alive” (#94) by Kamaliya, “Intoxicated” (#94, no official single) by The Cab, “Crime” (#96) by Robin Stjernberg and “Never forget” (#97) by Bebe Black.
