Week 242 – October 17th, 2015

Basically it had been a rather calm week, except one song which sprinted up the chart. According with this slow week the #1 is the same like last week. Austrian act Krautschädl still shining bright from the top with their catchy “Feiah fonga” (#1). Two weeks to go and they could equalize their hit “Khoids Wossa”. Still in the runner's-up position is “Someone” (#2) by Kelly Clarkson. This song is now in its 12th week on chart, but the chance to climb up the last spot is pretty small. Also holding their spots are the former #1’s “Bye bye” (#3) by Cro and “All the other fools” (#4) by Leslie Clio. Writing about Leslie Clio I can’t keep secret that her new single “Eureka” (#11) is knocking at the door to the Top 10 after a six spot climb. The Top 5 is rounded out with another Austrian act. Wanda’s “Bussi baby” (#5) is still holding the spot while their new single “Meine beiden Schwestern” (#89, “My both sisters”) is debuting down the chart.

The next part of the Top 10 is opened with the only new song in this section. Swedish singer Noonie Bao had only a minor hit on my chart before, but with her new single “Pyramids” (#6) she reached the Top 10 for the very first time. In its first week on chart I wrote that this song has written hit all over it, but it would be hard to predict if this song would reach the Top 10 or even higher. This week she finally made the step into the top songs of my chart and maybe next week “Pyramids” is in the Top 5. Directly behind “Pyramids” is “Brücken zum Mond” (#7) by Tagtraeumer in its 19th week on chart. “Von der Liebe” (#8) by Fettes Brot changed the spot with “Frei” (#9) by Dykris. The Top 10 is closed by Kompass Nord with “Nacktbaden” (#10).

For the highest new entry you have to go down nearly the half chart. At #48 you’ll find the greatest gainer which is “Same old love” (#48) by Selena Gomez. One spot behind you’ll find the highest debut. A year ago I watched the first season of “Nashville”. Several songs of this TV series made my chart in the following weeks. Some of these songs reached the Top 30, but the master stroke was missing. With this week songs from season 2 are celebrating their premier on my chart as I starting watching. The highest new song is by the new character Layla Grant which is portrayed by Aubrey Peeples. For Aubrey Peeples “Gonna get even” (#49) is her first appearance on my chart. Sure this song is more a teen country pop song and I’m no teen anymore, but I really like the catchiness of this song. So “Gonna get even” should do well on my chart and maybe “Gonna get even” is the first song of this show to reach the Top 20.

The 2nd highest new entry is in at #50. It is “Da Eberhard” (#50) by Austrian band Yellowframe. Some weeks ago they released their debut single “Diaries” which I decided not to chart. “Diaries” was reviewed by Austrian music expert Eberhard Forcher in his youtube show “Austrozone” where he is reviewing new Austrian songs. In the 80th show he premiered Yellowframe’s single “Diaries”. He described this song as a technical good rock song from Austria, but he asked why this band will have no success outside Austria. His answer was that it will be hard with school English to reach the international stages. In the opposite case with school German there hadn’t been any hits here, so this will explain why they won’t have international success. Five weeks after this review Eberhard Forcher presented Yellowframe’s answer to his review. As a reaction to this critic by Eberhard Forcher they released their new single “Da Eberhard” in an Austrian (Waldviertler) dialect. There they were working on this criticism with humorism lyrics and a very cool refrain. This could be a surprising hit for them and on my chart the premiered in this week’s Top 50.

Other new entries are “The first time” (#51) and “Ghost rider” (#52) by Madi Diaz, “I’d go with you anywhere” (#88) by Birds of Tokyo, “This love ain’t big enough” (#90) by Hayden Panettiere, “Why can’t I say goodnight” (#93) by Clare Bowen & Sam Palladio and “This” (#94) by Collective Soul.
