Week 428 – May 11th, 2019

Lean back and relax. Still leading with a double pack is LANY. Their song “If you see her” (#1) is now #1 for the fifth consecutive week which means that “Thick and thin” (#2) is in its fifth week supporting this song at the runner’s up spot. I can’t believe LANY is still leading with two songs. New at the podium is teen singer Indiana Massara. Her cover “I think we’re alone now” (#3) works well and earns her the first Top 3 smash on my chart. This song swapped spots with “Now that I found you” (#4) by Carly Rae Jepsen. Up one spot and back in my Top 5 is Lena with “Don’t lie to me” (#5). I’m not lying if I say that I really like this song.

Fletcher is trying to reach a spot within my Top 5. This week “Undrunk” (#6) climbed up two spots. This means she left former #1 “Under water (club edit)” (#7) by AVEC behind. Emma returns with her beautiful song “Malelingue” (#8, “Gossips”). Emma replaced Emma Bunton who dropped out with “Baby please don’t stop” (#12). Down two spots is former #1 “Tell me it’s over” (#9) by Avril Lavigne. I’m sure that I will welcome her in the near future with new songs in this part of my chart. The last but not least song in my Top 10 is “When the night moves” (#10) by Tyler Hilton & Kate Voegele.

Last week saw a massive of 19 debuts. This week things calmed down and so there are only six songs debuting. The highest debut is a German rap song. Especially over the last two years German rap songs “exploded” and they are actually dominating the charts in Germany and Austria. As I don’t like most of these songs they are hardly represented on my chart so that followers from outside the DACH-region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) didn’t know most of these songs. So it is a little sensation that a German rap song is debuting on my chart. For Juju who is also part of SXTN which I’ve charted once or twice in the past “Vermissen” (#78, “ Miss”) is her solo chart debut. She is featuring Henning May who is the lead singer of German rock band AnnenMayKantereit which I have never charted. For him it is also his chart debut. Other debuts are “Maybe, I’m afraid” (#91) by Lovelytheband, “Ça c'est fait” (#92, “That’s done”) by Souf, “Fahrrad” (#93, “Bicycle”) by Juli, “Summer days” (#94) by Martin Garrix feat. Macklemore & Patrick Stump and “Leave her wild” (#95) by Tyler Rich.
