Week 582 – April 23rd, 2022

Still my favourite song of the week is “She’s all I wanna be” (#1) by Canadian Tate McRae. She is now leading in front of two more artists from Canada. Next in line is one more time “Roses” (#2) by Alyssa Reid. For the first time within the Top 3 is Canadian singer Rain Paris who is famous for her rock covers. Now she entered this part with “Easy on me” (#3). With this rise she equalized the peak of the original by Adele which reached a Top 3 spot late in 2021. This song swapped its spot with “In the dark” (#4) by Purple Disco Machine & Sophie and the Giants. New in the Top 5 is Austrian singer Mathea with her recent smash “Funke, Flächenbrand” (#5, “Spark, wildfire”).

Knocking at the door to the Top 5 is Scottish singer Nina Nesbitt. Her song “When you lose someone” (#6) climbed up six spots is now her 1st Top 10 hit. It took her nearly nine years after debuting with “Boy” (debuted at #70 on May 18th, 2013 and peaked at #28 in June 2013) to reach the Top 10. This song is growing more and more on me so that I won’t be surprised if this song is reaching the Top 3. Directly behind you can find the 1st single from Anouk’s just released new album in four years and her 1st English album in six years. In my eyes it is just an EP, but it is considered as a regular album. Her song “Something better” (#7) climbed up two spots. Holding its spot is “Wenn du mich vermisst” (#8, “If you miss me”) by Fourty & Mathea. Dropping four spots are “No Romeo” (#9) by Dylan and former #1 “I quit drinking” (#10) by Kelsea Ballerini & LANY.

Rising song is “Run” (#34) by Morgan Wade. This song is the greatest gainer of the week after climbing up 18 spots. The highest debut is by British/Scottish/US singer Bishop Briggs. Her very emotional song “High water” (#59) in which she is dealing with the death of her sister did best, but just missed the Top 50.

Other debuts are “Radio” (#87) by Emily Roberts, “All das” (#88, “All that”) by Franzi Harmsen & Kayef, “Crazy what love can do” (#89) by David Guetta & Becky Hill & Ella Henderson, “Wish you well” (#91) by Felicia Lu, “All for you” (#92) by Cian Ducrot, “Good vibes only” (#94) by GIRLKIND and “Us” (#99) by Moon Jong Up.
