Week 579 – April 2nd, 2022

The 4th round between the match Purple Disco Machine feat. Sophie and the Giants vs. Tate McRae is over. This week “She’s all I wanna be” (#1) has seen the better end with taking over. So “In the dark” (#2) dropped one spot. New in the Top 3 is another singer from Canada. “Roses” (#3) by Alyssa Reid is her first Top 3 hit since her debut in the early 2010’s. This song swapped its spot with former #1 “I quit drinking” (#4) by Kelsea Ballerini & LANY. I’m still in love with this song. Unfortunately the charting is getting younger and younger so that this song will sooner or later drop out of the Top 10. For the first time in the Top 5 is British singer Dylan with her song “No Romeo” (#5). I absolutely love to see her in this part of the chart.

Holding its spot is three times #1 “I bet you think about me” (#6) by Taylor Swift feat. Chris Stapelton. Directly behind is another non-moving song. It is “Debbie Downer” (#7) by Canadia singer LØLØ and US singer Maggie Lindemann. Natalie Imbruglia which is a little bit struggling in this week’s edition. First to mention is that “Maybe it’s great” (#10) had leave the Top 10. Second to know is that “On my way” (#8) dropped out of the Top 5 and is also on its way to make a roster spot free for a new song in next week’s edition. This song is followed by “Easy on me” (#9). Rain Paris entered the Top 10 with her rock cover of Adele’s multiple #1 hit. This one is followed by another new song in this part of the chart. Finally Avril Lavigne is back. She returned with “Love it when you hate me” (#10) and the help of blackbear for whom it is his 1st Top 10 hit.

The greatest gainer of the week is “Lose you” (#56) by PRIZM after climbing up 17 spots. As you see this one just can be found outside the Top 50. For the highest debut you must dig deeper. It is country pop by Carrie Underwood. Her song “Ghost story” (#70) just debuted in the Top 70. Other debuts are “Olive branch” (#71) by Alanis Morissette, “Emotions” (#76) by Ella Henderson, “Hate to be you” (#78) by Lexi Jayde, “Give me the reason” (#79) by James Bay, “Jalousien” (#83, “Blinds”) by ART & Madeline Juno, “Souvenirs in trashbags” (#92) by Joachim & Benedict and “Winter” (#97) by Paula Douglas.
