Week 608 – October 22nd, 2022

This week’s edition described in one sentence: A lot of debuts and slow motion. Looking over the Top 10 makes it clear. For now four weeks at top is German band Juli with their comeback single “Fette wilde Jahre” (#1, “Big wild years”). In the hunt is “Talking to yourself” (#2) by Carly Rae Jepsen. This one has the potential to become her 2nd #1 following her 2017 smash “Cut to the feeling”. Still in the Top 3 and also holding its spot is “Jealousy” (#3) by Pale Waves. This one is their highest ranked song among four Top 10 hits in this week’s edition. New in the Top 5 are “Clean” (#4) also by Pale Waves and “Wie mein Herz bricht” (#5, “How my heart breaks”) by Esther Graf.

These songs replaced former #1 “Lies” (#6) by Pale Waves and “Every second” (#8) by Mina Okabe in the Top 5. Caught between these former Top 5 is another hit song by Esther Graf. Her song “Into it” (#7) climbed up one spot. So, in the moment six out of 10 songs in Top 10 are either from Pale Waves or Esther Graf. This week’s Top 10 is rounded out with two new songs. The higher ranked one is “Bellissima” (#9, “Extremely beautiful”) by Annalisa. The other one is the fourth Top 10 hit in a row by Pale Waves. Their song “Reasons to live” (#10) climbed up four spots.

German singer CÉLINE is awarded with the greatest gainer of the week for “Süße Träume” (#22, “Sweet dreams”). This song sprinted up nine spots. British singer Mimi Webb is doing well with her newest released single. “Ghost of you” (#58) is debuting just outside the Top 50, but has a very good outlook. Only one other song also debuted within the Top 50. It is collaboration between German singer KLAN and well-known German artist LEA. Their song “Dass du mich liebst” (#59, “That you love me”) is a nice song and should easily reach the Top 20.
