Week 652 – August 26th, 2023

With their comeback single Tagtraeumer are topping the chart now for a fourth consecutive week. “Alles und mehr” (#1, “Everything and more”) is now their 2nd biggest chart-topping hit. Only their debut single “Sinn” (“Sense”, topped the chart back in 2014 for five weeks) did better. For weeks in the hunt is “Through your eyes” (#2) by Morgan Wade. She just released her 2nd album “Psychopath”. Some weeks ago I pointed out that I’m not sure about this album, but I listened to it yesterday and I’ve to admit that I really like. Also there is a chance to see her live in Munich in two weeks where she is playing a gig to promote her album in Europe. Unfortunately, the school year is going to start as well as I’ve some appointments which makes it difficult to travel to Munich and so I’m not sure if I will make it. On the other hand, when will she ever be in Europe to play concerts?

Up four spots and landing in the Top 3 is “The very first night” (#3) by Taylor Swift. This isn’t the only new song in the Top 5. The other one is “What I want” (#4) by Lena. This song climbed up two spots. Dropping on spot and still in the Top 5 is “Psychopath” (#5) by Morgan Wade.

After spending two weeks at #5 “Jaded (#6)” by Miley Cyrus dropped out of the Top 5. Former #1 “Temporary” (#7) had to accept that the appearance in this part is now definitely ending after dropping four spots. Directly behind is “I can see you” (#8) by Taylor Swift after rising two spots. Next in line is the only new song in this section. It is “Du und L.A.” (#9, “You and L.A.”) by German singer Clueso. This song is growing more and more on me and see a big chance to reach the summit. P!nk dropped one spot with her song “When I get there” (#10).

This week saw two songs awarded with the greatest gainer of the week. The higher ranked one is “Sofia” (#25) by fiio. The other one is “Never look back” (#36) by Tom Gregory. Both songs climbed up 12 spots. The highest debut just missed the Top 40 by one spot. I is “Runaway” (#41) by P!nk. For all the nerds it is definitely the single from “Trustfall” and not her song “Runaway” from her 2006 album “I’m not dead”. Behind the 2nd best song got is debut. It is “Verletzen” (#42, “Injure”) by Silbermond who also debut with another single “Offenes Buch” (#69, “Open book”) from their album “Auf auf” (“Up up”).

Other debuts are “Genug” (#56, “Enough”) by Mark Forster, “Remember to forget” (#59) by Riku Rajamaa, “Give you love” (#74) by Jessica Mauboy feat.
