Week 649 – August 5th, 2023

It took them only three weeks to take over the chart after their comeback. Tagtraeumer climbed up two spots with their single “Alles und mehr” (#1, “Everything and more”). Holding its spot is “Through your eyes” (#2) by Morgan Wade while her now former #1 “Psychopath” (#3) dropped two spots. Alexa Cappelli isn’t giving up with her smash “Temporary” (#4) which rose one spot. This means that “Favorite kind of high” (#5) had to drop one spot.

“Jaded” (#6) by Miley Cyrus is maybe not as good as the previous singles, but it slowly climbs up to reach the Top 5. Morgan Wade’s cover “Suspicious minds” (#6) dropped one spot and is just the highest ranked cover song. This status “Suspicious minds” should lose next week because “Teardrops” (#9) by Leslie Clio reached the Top 10 with this edition. Also new in the Top 10 are two more songs from German artists. The higher ranked one is “Tausendmal” (#8, “Thousand times”) by LEA. The other one is “What I want” (#10) by Lena.

The award for the greatest gainer goes to “Die besten Dinge” (#35, “The best things”) by Juli after climbing up 26 spots. This week’s highest debuts landed all outside the Top 50. The highest one is by German schlager singer Marina Marx. Her songs are always hit and miss for me, but with “Weisst du noch” (#54, “You know what”) she has a moderate hit. For the first time since 2015 US singer Ray Dalton is reaching the chart. Back in 2015 he was featured on the Madcon track “Don’t worry” which peaked at #52. This time he debuts as solo artist with “Do it again” (#56). Sure here I’m late (to song has been released as a single back in March), but I just discovered the music video which was released a month ago.
