Week 120 – June 15th, 2013

Kelly Clarkson stayed only one week at the Top with “People like us”. This week she’s back at the runner’s up position. For the first time a country band took over to lead my chart. With their 2nd single “Can’t keep waiting” Autumn Hill reached the summit. And I could imagine that they could stay longer at the top if … . Yes If, because there is a big sensation within the Top 10. While Pink feat. Lily Rose Cooper is still at the podium with “True love” the highest new entry can be found at #4.

One Direction has done all the work over the last two years to infect me with their sound. But until now “Live while we’re young” is the bands biggest hit which peaked at #12 last year. Their sound is good. Unfortunately they had no Top 10 hit on my chart. This week a band from Finland grabs a Top 10 debut with an absolute similar sound. Satin Circus is the Finnish band I’m talking about. Their song “Emma” (#4) brings the One Direction sound directly into my Top 10. With this sensational debut they brought themselves in a good position for a future #1. Beside this Top 10 debuts there are only position changes, a climb up for “It’s only love” (#7) by Matt Cardle and a drop out for former #1 “Millionen Lichter” by Christina Stürmer.

Bon Jovi’s “What about now” (#11) knocks heavily at the door to the Top 10. In his tow is Bastille with “Pompeii” (#12) which climbed up six spots. Three songs are new in Top 20. First to mention is Marla Blumenblatt. Her retro sound song “Cornetto” (#16) is ready for the weather change in Austria. With temperatures climbing up a song about the ice cream Cornetto has good chances peak within the Top 10. Also doing well are Sara Bareilles with her new single “Brave” (#18) and German band Glasperlenspiel with “Nie vergessen” (#19).

Let’s talk about the greatest gainer of the week. This time I’ve got two songs which climbed up 24 spots. Both songs debuted last week outside the Top 50. I start with Prince Kay One feat. The Product G&B. Their song “V.I.P.” (#39) is this week’s biggest sensation in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. This fresh new song with the summer sound got Top 10 debuts in all the countries I mentioned before. The other song is “Come and get it” (#37) by Selena Gomez.

The remake of Captain Hollywood’s 1990’s dance classic “More and more” (#64) by Scotty vs. Captain Hollywood is this week’s second highest new entry. Generally this remake could be Captain Hollywood’s chart comeback since 1996. “More and more” is followed by another new entry. “Caliente” (#65) has everything to become the summer anthem of 2013 in Middle Europe. For Jay Santos it’s his first charting song and he is also the first male singer from Columbia on my chart.

If you look over my chart you will see that there are a lot of debuts. All in all there are 16 debuts which is a new record.
