Week 139 – October 26th, 2013

One song on my list is running from record the record. This week “Receive” (#71) by Alanis Morissette broke the next record. “Receive” is the first song on my chart surpassing the one-year-mark. Three other songs reached 52 weeks before, but failed to go at least one more week on my chart. These songs have been “Turning tables” my year-end #1 back in 2011 by famous Adele then “Set fire to the rain” (year-end #3 in 2011) also by Adele and Anouk’s “What have you done” (year-end #4 in 2011). “Receive” stayed ten weeks at #1 and had been #29 in the year-end 2012. Maybe this year she is going even higher.

But let’s go to this week’s chart. I’ve got a new #1. It’s the first for Mic Donet. “Going insane” reached #1 in its 13th week and failed to equal Matt Cardle’s record with “It’s only love” by one week. Last week’s #1 “Pretending as always” (#2) by Anouk dropped one. “Dimentico tutto” is completing the Top 3. This is Emma’s 1st Top 3 hit this year and a sure shot for next week’s #1 if Mic Donet is giving up his position. “Dimentico tutto” sprinted up eight spots and is the only new song in the Top 10. This song replaced “Loving you” (#11) by Matt Cardle & Melanie C after only one week in the Top 10. The rest of the songs in this section of my chart only changed the positions a little bit.

Last week’s top debut “Es geht bis zu den Wolken” (#14) by German youngster Luna Simao only climbed up two spots. She is followed by another German youngster. Madeline Juno climbed up ten spots for scoring her first Top 20 hit on my chart. Both songs are doing well and have a realistic chance to enter the Top 10 next week. “It’s my party” (#19) by Jessie J and “Wake me up” (#18) by 77 Bombay Street also reached the Top 20 for the first time. The other 77 Bombay Street song on my chart “Follow the rain” (#24) has been released as 3rd official single.

Sandra van Nieuwland climbed up 34 spots with her beautiful song “Hunter” (#39). This song is this week’s greatest gainer. Not far behind is this week’s highest new entry. It’s Avril Lavigne’s third single from her upcoming new album. With Chad Kroeger “Let me go” (#42) this song has everything to follow her only #1 “Rock N Roll” (#7). At the moment I can’t wait to listen to this new album. Hopefully this is a good one. The next best new entry comes from Steve Grand. While his debut “All-american boy” failed to chart the follow up “Stay” (#61) is catchier and far better than his debut (in my opinion). Steve Grand’s chart debut is followed by the chart debut of 14-year-old Norwegian girl Marthe Emilie with“Your picture” (#62).

Other debuts are “Nu” (#72) by Elin Överfjord, “Lived a lie” (#78) by You Me at Six, “Amore puro” (#83, “Pure love”) by Alessandra Amoroso, “Like you” (#84) by Dinah Nah, “Heart of a lion” (#86) by The Griswolds, “Hurt you” (#91) by Toni Braxton & Babyface, “Guide you home” (#94) by Fluorescent Hearts and “When the darkness comes” (#95) by Colbie Caillat.
