Week 141 – November 9th, 2013

Italian singer Emma is holding the top spot with “Dimentico tutto” (“I forget everything”). One more week at #1 and she could outperform “Tra passione e lacrime” (“Between passion and tears”) which had been #1 last year in April. New in the runner’s up position is British singer Ben Montague. “Love like stars” (#2) had been his first single back in 2012 from his adorable 2nd album “Tales of flying and falling”. Falling down one spot is Mic Donet with “Going insane” (#3). Still there are six #1 songs in my Top 10. Beside some position changes there is only one new song in this part of my chart. The only new song comes from Switzerland. “Wake me up” (#10) this time not by Avicii feat. Aloe Blacc is 77 Bombay Street’s 5th Top 10 hit from two albums and 17 charting songs.

Between the spots 11 and 20 there are some songs which are trying to replace the older ones in the Top 10. First to mention is again Madeline Juno with “Error” (#11). This week only the climb by 77 Bombay Street prevented that she score her first Top 10 hit. In their 2nd week Satin Circus are climbing up the chart. Four spots better than last week “If you love me” (#12) is on its way to reach the bands 2nd Top 10 hit. And there is Jessie J who is doing well with “It’s my party” (#13). This one could be her 1st Top 10 hit since her #1 smash hit “Domino” back in February 2012. Two others who actually have a Top 10 hit are also trying to replace their songs. It’s Avril Lavigne with Chad Kroeger and their song “Let me go” (#14) and of course  Emma with “Amami” (#15, “Love me).

A notable comeback is celebrating Israel born French singer Tal. Her cooperation with Flo Rida “Danse” (#24) was on its way out of the chart when I listened to her album this week. What should I say? I like her album, but once again it hasn’t been released in Austria so far. In the meantime “Danse” returned and is this week’s greatest gainer. If you are looking for the highest new entry you have to go down the chart this week. It only can be found outside the Top 50. This week biggest debut comes from well-known Pink with her latest single. “Walk of shame” (#52) is leading the debuts including two more songs from her last album “The truth about love”. Her other debuts are “Slut like you” (#53) and “Beam me up” (#68).

Between all these Pink debuts there is the debut by the latest Lady Gaga single. “Do what U want” (#61) is featuring R. Kelly for whom it is the first chart appearance. Also an interesting debut is giving Austrian singer Carl Peyer. Back in the 1980’s he had two chart hits with “Romeo and Julia” (peaked at #7 in Austria in 1987) and “Du bist wie a Wunder” (#23 in 1987, “You’re like a miracle”). Then he only had a few songs which got some airplay in the 1980’s. If the Austrian music stations give “Liebe ist” (#82, “Love is”) a chance this one could be his 3rd Austrian chart hit. Other debuts this week are “Wasting all these tears” (#76) by Cassedee Pope, “Forgot you” (#77) by Bella Ferraro feat. Will Singe, “Come & get in trouble with me” (#78) by Ricki-Lee, “You set my world on fire” (#81) by Tina Arena, “We remain” (#83) by Christina Aguilera, “Live for the night” (#86) by Krewella and “Softest place on earth” (#87) by Craig Smart.
