Week 335 – July 29th, 2017

Last week caught me on the wrong foot with the Photobucket problem. This week I return with a review. Well there is a new #1. After three weeks at the top Lady Gaga had to leave with “The cure” (#4). This year is really a year for male singers on my chart. The relatively unknown British singer-songwriter Luke Sital-Singh took over with “Greatest lovers” (#1). It is such a beautiful song and such a shame that I oversaw it when it had been originally released. Still at #2 is “Cut to the feeling” by Carly Rae Jepsen. It is hard to believe that she had no #1 on my chart so far and it seems that “Cut to the feeling” wouldn’t change that, because of Kate Voegele is sprinting up the chart with “Don’t count on me” (#3). Last but not least in my Top 5 is “Unendlich gleich” (#5, “Infinitely the same”) by Austrian Tagtraeumer.

Knocking at the door to my Top 5 for the first time is “Killer” (#6) by Portuguese singer Aurea. This week she climbed up five spots with maybe the best songs from all of her albums. I really love this song and it is definitely a song which will fight for #1 within the next weeks. Down three spots is former #1 “There is nothing holdin’ me back” (#7) by Shwan Mendes. This song is followed by another former #1, but for Wincent Weiss’ “Nur ein Herzschlag entfernt” (#8, “Only a heartbeat away”) it goes up one spot. Then the 2nd new one in my Top 10 is following. It is “Nothing stays the same” (#9) by Luke Sital-Singh. For him it is nearly a perfect week on my chart, because he has now two Top 10 hits including this week’s #1. “If I wasn’t your daughter” (#10) by Lena is rounding out this weeks Top 10.

The greatest gainer is “Nobody” (#37) by Selena Gomez which climbed up 17 spots. This one is a song from her album “Revival” while I’m not charting her regular singles at the moment. In general there are 13 new songs on my chart. The highest debut is by Cold War Kids. They recently had their first #1 with “Can we hang on?” (#14) which dropped out of my Top 10 this week. Now they return with their 3rd regular single “Restless” (#46) and two more songs from their album “LA Devine”. Their other debuts are “So tied up” (#47) with Bishop Briggs and “LA River” (#69).

Kid Ink.
