Week 379 – June 2nd, 2018

It has been a very slow music week for me. I had a lot of work for my school classes to do and so I hadn’t the time to discover new music. Therefore only four songs got their debut in this week’s edition and you don’t see a lot of action. This brings me directly to my Top 10. Kylie Minogue is holding the top spot with “Stop me from falling” (#1) for a fourth week in a row. Also non-moving are the rest of my Top 5 and the #6. So you can find “Zusammen” (#2, “Together”) and “Desire” (#3) by Matt Cardle at the podium. These songs are followed by “Your side of the bed” (#4) by Loote, “Effetto domino” (#5, “Domino effect”) by Emma and “I don’t think about you” (#6) by Kelly Clarkson.
The first song which climbed up in my Top 10 is “Clearly” (#7) by Grace VanderWaal. “Clearly” climbed up two spots. Also climbing up two spot is “Sottovoce” (#8, “Whisper”) by Emma. Next in line is “We got love” (#9) by Jessica Mauboy which dropped two spots. And then there is the only new song in my Top. It is by Austrian band Tagtraeumer. Their song “Alle Farben” (#10, “All colours”) leaped into my Top 10 after a ten spot climb.

Climbing up ten spots is very good this week, but there is another song from Austria which did better. It is “Verdammt lang her” (#38, “Damn long ago”) by Andreas Gabalier. This song is this week’s greatest gainer after it climbed up 16 spots. “Verdammt lang her” got this award for a 2nd week in a row. For the highest debut you’ve to dig deep this week. It is another song by Norma Jean Martine. “So high” (#71) by Aslove feat. Norma Jean Martine is a dance track which has been released at the end of 2017, but I discovered this song this week. With this song on my chart she has now four charting songs: two songs from her album and two more songs as featured act. The 2nd best new entry is from German act Kush Kush. Their song samples Suzanne Vega’s “Tom diner” and “Sweet & bitter” (#78) got a solid debut. Other debuts are album from German singer Antje Schomaker. Over the last months she released “Auf und davon” (#79, “Up and away”) and “Von Helden und Halunken” (#80, “Of heroes and scoundrels”) as regular singles.
