Week 388 – August 4th, 2018

This week I’m throwing away lots of burden. 14 songs had to leave for this week’s edition and I’ve to say thank you for this wonderful music. Although there are several debuts there is no new #1. “I did something bad” (#1) by Taylor Swift gets its 3rd week at the top. New in the runner’s up spot are the Backstreet Boys. “Don’t go breaking my heart” (#2) is definitely one of the biggest sensations this year and it will be interesting to so if they go all the way up next week. On the other hand there is big concurrence in the Top 5. Up two spots is another song by Taylor Swift. “Don’t blame me” (#3) has also its chance, but in my eyes this song is only an outsider. New in my Top 10 and my Top 5 are the next two songs. Let’s welcome Kelly Clarkson. Her recent single “Heat” (#4) climbed up eight spots after it had been last week’s greatest gainer. This song is followed by this week’s greatest gainer. It is “Thru these tears” (#5) by LANY. For them this is their first Top 10 (and of course Top 5) smash in their career. This is definitely a song which could reach my #1.

The 2nd half of my Top 10 is lead by two former #1’s. “Angels on my shoulder” (#6) by Norma Jean Martine dropped four spots. Down three spots is “Not the only one” (#7) by Kate Voegele. Next in line is “So high” (#8) by Aslove feat. Norma Jean Martine. On their way out are “Verdammt lang her” (#9, “Damn long ago”) by Austrian star Andreas Gabalier and “Bye bye” (#10) by Annalisa.

I’ve mentioned it above that there are 14 new songs, but none of these songs had been able to reach my Top 50. The highest debut has been close, but just missed it. It is the new single by Shakira and Maluma. Every now and then Shakira is charting with a song in Spanish. This time it is “Clandestino” (#52, “Clandestine”). I like this song, but I’m not sure that this song will end in my Top 20. Also near to my Top 50 are two debuts from the album “Time is a riddle” by Luke Sital-Singh. These are “Rough diamond falls” (#56) and “Until the night is done” (#57).

Bonn, “Cordula Grün” (#80) by Josh., “Du und ich” (#81, “You and I”) by Cluseo, “Heatwave” (#84) by Missy Lancaster, “Molotow” (#90, “Molotov”) by Mama Moop, “Another you” (#91) by Breakbot feat.
