Week 397 – October 6th, 2018

For now three weeks “You” (#1) by Matilda is my top song of the week. She defended once more the title although “Mi parli piano” (#2, “Talk to me slowly”) tries to get back at the top. New at the podium is “Rough diamonds fall” (#3) by Luke Sital-Singh. I really like this song, but pushing this song to #1? I don’t know at the moment. Down one spot are former #1 “Thru these tears” (#4) by LANY and “In ein paar Jahren” (#5, “In a few years”) by Christina Stürmer.

The leader of the 2nd part of my Top 10 is "One more red light” (#6) by Cassadee Pope. This country pop song is followed by another song out of this genre. “Wild” (#7) by Catherine McGrath climbed up one spot and is attacking for my country #1. Dropping down one spot is “Immer wenn wir uns sehn” (#8, “Always when we met“) by LEA feat. Cyril. I still think that the rap part isn’t really good, but overall it is a very good song. So now there are two new songs in my Top 10. The first one is by Austrian band Tagtraeumer with their song “Sicherer Hafen” (#9, “Safe harbor”). The other one is by German singer singed to Sony Music Australia Leony! with her recent single “Boots” (#10).

Last week Avril Lavigne returned with her latest single “Head above water” (#33). This week she climbed up 19 spots and received the greatest gainer of the week for this song. In general only eight songs got their debut. The highest one is “Shallow” (#74) by Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper. “Shallow” is a nice song for the film “A star is born”. Other debuts are “Let you love me” (#79) by Rita Ora, “Back again” (#80) by You Me At Six, “This feeling” (#81) by The Chainsmokers feat. Kelsea Ballerini, “All I ever see in you is me” (#91) and “Thumbelina” (#92) by Jillette Johnson, “Believer” (#95) by CYN and “There’ no way” (#96) by Lauv feat. Julia Michaels.
