 Week 541 – July 10^th, 2021

It's the first weekend before the summer holidays really start and Olivia Rodrigo is topping the chart for a 2nd week with her smash "Good 4 U" (#1). It isn't the only song holding its spot within the Top 5. In general four out of five songs in this part are stable. So it isn't a surprise to find "Mr. perfectly fine" (#2) by Taylor Swift still behind. In the end it had been a tough battle, but for this week I go again with Olivia Rodrigo. Next in line it the 2nd Taylor Swift song in the Top 3. "You all over me" (#3) with Maren Morris is also a non-mover. The last non-mover is former #1 "Drei Uhr Nachts" (#4, "Three o'clock a.m.) by LEA & Mark Forster. New in the Top 5 is "Chiamami per nome" (#5, "Call me by name") by Francesca Michielin & Fedez. I really love this duet and maybe this is the party crasher I hadn't in mind when I speculated about future #1's in the past.

Right behind you can find the next song in Italian. This time it is by Annalisa. Her song "Dieci" (#6, "Ten") climbed up three spots. Then there is the 2nd former #1 by LEA in the Top 10. "When nur Liebe hilft" (#7, "If only love could help") dropped two spots and although this song seems on its way out of the Top 10 I think there should be some more weeks in the Top 10 for this song. The highest new song in the Top 10 is "Electric" (#8) by Katy Perry. I really enjoyed her earlier work, but at one point I lost interest in her music. So it is a big surprise that this song can be found in the Top 10. The other new song in the Top 10 is by Madeline Juno. She is constantly having Top 10 hits in 2021 and so with "Tu was du willst" (#10, "Do what you want") she is returning. Caught between these new songs is former #1 "Nuda" (#9, "Naked") by Annalsia.

The greatest gainer of the week is "We were young" (#52) by PRIZM. Their song climbed up 17 spots. It just missed the Top 50 where it should be found next week. The highest debut is by British superstar Ed Sheeran. His latest song "Bad habits" (#41) finally debuted and maybe I will chart this song even better. Other debuts are "Should've known better" (#60) and "29" (#76) by Carly Pearce, "Just a friend" (#61) by Concrete Castles, "Sommer" (#71, "Summer") by Beatzarre & Djorkaeff & LEA & Capital Bra – this song could have done better without Capital Bra in my opinion –, "Tonight, tonight" (#81) by Celeste and "Like my father" by Jax.
