Week 669 – December 23rd, 2023

Merry X-Mas and happy holidays to everyone. At the end of the year there is a quick change at the top of my chart. Last week Annalisa took over, but she topped the chart with “Ragazza sola” (#2, “Lonely girl”) for only one week. This week “AQYNE” (#1) by Aitana & Danna Paola took over. With this move 7 out of 10 songs in the current Top 10 had topped the chart. This is absolutely insane. Holding their spots are “Into your room” (#3) by Holly Humberstone and “Easy” (#4) by Alexandra Kay. The only new song in the Top 5 hadn’t been in last week’s Top 10. After climbing up six spots Madeline Juno and 1986zig returned in this part of the chart. Their song “Versprich mir du gehest” (#5, “Promise me you’ll go“) could also be a #1 hit in the future as the current Top 10 is relatively old.

Dropping out of the Top 5 is former #1 “We’re not in love anymore” (#6) by Knox feat. Charlotte Sands. This one is followed by “Superbloodmoon” (#7) by Holly Humbestone feat. d4vd and “Sofia” (#8) by fiio. I personal can’t believe that these songs are climbing up the chart again, because some weeks ago I believed that these songs drop out of the Top 10 soon. This shows that I’m no clairvoyant and my prediction was wrong. Next in line is the other Top 10 debut. It is “Halloween” (#9) by Morgan Wade. Still rounding out the Top 10 is “IDGAF” (#10) by fiio.

As last week “Freezing” (#27) by Mimi Webb is awarded with the greatest gainer of the week, but there is one more song which climbed up 17 spots in this week’s edition. It is “Thousand miles” (#58) by Miley Cyrus feat. Brandi Carlile. So, both songs got awarded. This brings me as always to the highest debut which finally can be found in the Top 40. It is the latest single by Italian Annalisa. Her song “Euforia” (#32, “Euphoria”) is doing very well and should be seen in the Top 10 very soon. This isn’t her only debut. On her other single I’m very late. It is “Disco Paradise” (#42) where she is featured on a Fedez song with Articolo 31. Unfortunaley this one isn’t on her latest album. Both songs are very catchy and here I’m sure that these songs will leave its mark on my chart.

And there is a third song debuting in the Top 50. It is “Sing!” (#47) by Jeanette Biedermann. Maybe you remember her from her two Top 10 hits back in 2019 which have been her only charting hits so far. In that year she topped the chart with the emotional “Deine Geschichten” (“Your stories”) for four weeks and also reached the Top 10 with “Besser mit dir” (“Better with you”) in October 2019. All other singles by her failed to enter the chart until today. I really see a bright future for “Sing!”, but as I pointed out above, I’m no clairvoyant and so only time will tell.

Other debuts are “Voodoo” (#74) by Ian Hooper, “Dararé” (#85, “I will give”) and “Miamor” (#86, “My love”) by Aitana, “You’re losing me” (#88) by Taylor Swift, “Different lives” (#91) by Fly By Midnight & Rachel Grae, “Let it burn” (#92) by Shaboozey, “Wish you wouldn’t” (#94) by Challista Clark and “Strange way to love” (#98) by Yeeun.
