Week 687 – April 27th, 2024

FKA twigs failed to enter the Top 3 of the longest running #1’s with “Killer” (#2) after topping the chart for two weeks. Climbing up one spot is “Keep your demons” (#1) by TAELA. This one will only be a bridge #1, but hey I’m sure TAELA won’t complain after reaching the top spot for the first time. New in the Top 3 is “CLICK BOOM!” (#3) by Rose Villain which should take over next week. By the way I will post next week’s chart on Saturday, because from Sunday to Wednesday I will participate on Morah 2024 in Auschwitz with my school as accompanying teacher. “R&J” (#4) by Ella Stern failed to reach the Top 3, but there is a chance for her next week. Dropping out of the Top 3 is “You & me” (#5) by Jennie.

“Überall” (#6, “Everywhere”) by Esther Graf & Montez dropped one spot and had to leave the Top 5. Next in line is former #1 “Euforia” (#7, “Euphoria”) by Annalisa. Up two spots is “Can I jump?” (#8) by Freya Ridings. Surely on their way out of this part of the chart are “Therapie” (#9, “Therapy”) by Wanda and “Shape of me” (#10) by Rita Ora.

Austria is ruling this week’s chart. The greatest gainer of the week is by Austrian singer Sinikka Monte. Her song “Knock & run” (#39) climbed up 14 spots in its 2nd week on chart. The highest debut is by Esther Graf. I mentioned that she released “She’s so cool” (#32) last week and now she got the debut. On the long run I think that this one will outperform “Vitamin d[ u]” (#28) which just reached the Top 30. The 2nd best debut is by Tina Naderer. Hands up who is remembering her from my charts? The last time she charted had been with “Nicht so schnell” (“Not so fast”) back in 2022 for three weeks. Then she went on hiatus. Now she returned with her new single “Game over” – just another song in German with an English title aargh! – at #33. I like this one, but I doubt that she will reach #1 as she did with “Allein” (“Alone”) back in 2021.

There are two more debuts in the Top 50. The 3rd highest debut is by Morgan Wade. She is actually promoting her 3rd album “Obsessed”, the follow-up to “Psychopath” which will be released in August. She released the single “2AM in London” (#37) which just debuted, and she also released “Time to love, time to kill” which will also debut soon. She is also touring with Alanis Morissette during the summer. The other debut is by Dua Lipa who released “Illusion” (#41) as 3rd single from her latest album “Radical optimism” (#41). I only listened to this song a few times, but so far I think it will outperform her other singles from this album on my chart in the near future.
