Week 689 – May 11th, 2024

I’m just back from Poland with a group of students of our school which visited Auschwitz and took part of the March of Remembrance and Hope. So I didn’t listen to a bunch of new songs and therefor there isn’t a lot of action in this week’s edition. Last week Italian singer Rose Viallain took over for the first time in her career. This week “CLICK BOOM!” (#1) defended the throne although there is a big new concurrence with “Sincaremente” (#2, “Sincerely”) by Annalisa who recently had a #1 song which is still in the Top 10. Holding its spot is former #1 “Killer” (#3) by FKA twigs while “Keep your demons” (#4) by TAELA dropped two spots. Down one spot is “R&J” (#5) by Ella Stern.

Leaving the Top 5 again is “You & me” (#6) by Jennie. This song is now in its 19th charting week, but it isn’t the oldest song in this part. Two weeks older is “Euforia” (#8, “Euphoria”) by Annalisa. Caught between these two former #1’s is “Contigo” (7, “With you”) by Karol G & Tiësto. For both acts this is their first Top 10 hit on my chart. “21 Gramm” (#9) by KLAN &Madeline Juno failed to climb up the chart again. New in this part is another song by Madeline Juno. She entered the Top 10 with her recent solo single “Was zu verlieren” (#10, “What to lose”).

The award for the greatest gainer of the week goes to Miley Cyrus. The album cut “You” (#32) climbed up 14 spots and entered the Top 50. As I pointed out above there isn’t a lot of action in this week’s edition. So there are only two new songs debuting and both songs are album cuts from album I bought. So let’s welcome LANY with their songs “Remember that” (#75) and “I didn’t lie” (#76).
