Week 729– February 15th, 2025

What can I say about this week’s edition? For the top spot there is nothing new to say. Gracie Abrams defended the #1 spot with “That’s so true” (#1) which is now for a fifth time at the top. New at the runner’s-up spot is “Love letter” (#2) by Knox who has now three songs in the Top 10. Down one spot is “Baby tu” (#3) by Luca Vasta. The following two songs are up one spot. The higher ranked one is “Not The 1975” (#4) by Knox. The other one is “Reservetank” (#5) by Madeline Juno.

Knocking at the door to the Top 5 is “Irgendwohin” (#6, “Somewhere”) by Antje Schomaker feat. Eva Briegel. This one is growing on me very fast and for the moment I believe there is a little chance for reaching #1. Dropping three spots is former #1 “Number one girl” (#7) by ROSÉ which is followed by “Toxic till the ned” (#8) also by her. Next in line are two new songs in the Top 10. Let’s welcome back German singer Leslie Clio who returns with “Just friends” (#9). The other new song is “Miss you when you missed me” (#10) by Knox feat. Nightly.

During the last two weeks the greatest gainer climbed up 14 spots. This week is no difference. Once again there are two songs climbing up 14 spots and these are the same two songs as last week. “Just friends” by Leslie Clio did it for the third time in a row and is now in the Top 10. The other one is “In meinen Armen” (#16, “In my arms”) by NESS & Madeline Juno. This leads me to the highest debut which is once more by Madeline Juno. She just released another single with “Anomalie” (#38, “Anomaly”). “Anomalie” is the title track of her upcoming new album “Anomalie Pt. 1”.

Beside this one three more songs landed in the Top 50 for their debut. “Narben” (#42, “Scars”) is the chart debut for REEZA. I hadn’t been interested in her songs before, but “Narben” is a very good song and should do well. Shinedown is celebrating a comeback. The last time they charted was back in 2016 with “How did you love”. Now the return very strong with “Three six five” (#44) and “Dance, kid, dance” (#83). Also returning is Kesha with a song from documentary “Diane Warren: Relentless”. Her song “Dear me” (#45) has everything to end in the top part of the chart, but for now #45 is a solid start.

Other debuts are “IKYK” (#58) by Alessi Rose, “Born again” (#78) by LISA feat. Doja Cat & Raye, “Hot for you baby” (#82) by Tina Turner, “MANIAC” (#84) by Eddie Benjamin, “Perfect” (#85) by Mass of Man feat.
