Week 102 – February 9th, 2013

Everything was prepared for an eleventh week at the top for “Receive”. But a traffic jam where I listened to a concurrence song several times prevented this event. So the way was free for Taylor Swift’s second #1 song. “I knew you were trouble.” is new at the top while Alanis Morissette is only in the runner’s up position. It could have been worse for her, but 15 weeks within the Top 3 and 16 weeks within the Top 5 could be an all-time record. The Top 3 is completed with the greatest gainer of the week. Last week this song only gave its debut at #90. This week this song shot up the chart like a torpedo. No other song before climbed up 87 spots or more. “Torpedo” by newcomer Jillette Johnson is hot for being my next #1. Or could Taylor Swift stay for a second week?

Apropos Taylor Swift. The title song of her album climbed up one spot to get into the Top 5. Also doing well within the Top 10 is Matt Cardle with his title track of his debut album. “Letters” finished this week one spot behind the Top 5. Beside the great Top 10 debut by Jillette Johnson I welcome back Canadian rock band Three Days Grace. “The high road” (#7) climbed up 5 spots and is their second Top 10 hit nearly two years after “Lost in you” reached the Top 10 too. Two new songs means that I’ve to say goodbye to two other songs. Canadian country duo Autumn Hill with “Anything at all” (#13) and former #1 “Between the raindrops” (#12) by Lifehouse feat. Natasha Bedingfield left this section.

Inside the spots 11 to 20 there are several position changes. “Glorious” (#14) by Cascada is continuing the good run and could end next week with their first Top 10 hit. If … Yes there are some songs which also could do it. First to mention is once more “Angel” (#11). Then Bon Jovi is also in a position for his first Top 10 hit with “Because we can” (#15). And for sure Pink feat. Nate Ruess with “Just give me a reason” (#20). For the singer of Fun. it could also his first Top 10 hit, because “We are young” and “Some nights” failed to get there.

The highest new entry comes from Kelly Clarkson with an album cut from “Stronger”. “Hello” (#51) has written hit all over the song and this could be her next top hit on my chart. In general the songs from “Stronger” did better than the new singles from her “Greatest hits” album. While “Catch my breath” peaked at 11 her latest single release from this album “Don’t rush” don’t even charted. Only one spot behind is another song from Alanis Morissette’s “Havoc and bright lights” album. It’s “Lens” (#52) which has been released official as 2nd single from this album last summer. Has anybody realized this fact? I only read about it this week so the 2nd single is charted after the third official single on my chart.

The other new entries are “Fire” (#58) by Ingrid Michaelson, “The war is over” (#59) by Kelly Clarkson, “Cry your heart out” (#86) by Lovebugs feat. Rykka, “Young girls” (#89) by Bruno Mars, “Maybe someday” (#90) by Lonestar, “Unter meiner Haut” (Under my skin, #93) by Elif and “Rockin’” (#96) by Kim Bo Kyung.
