Week 101 – February 2nd, 2013

This is really a landmark on my chart. In my first charting area only one song I can remember stayed 10 weeks at the top. “I’ll be missing you” by Puff Daddy & Faith Evans feat 112 is the song which topped my chart for such a long time. Now Alanis Morissette also reached her 10th week at the top with “Receive”. Next week she could set an absolute record, but with Taylor Swift she has big concurrence behind. “I knew you were trouble.” (#2) could Taylor Swift’s second #1 on my chart. Dropping down one spot is “Raver” (#3). Climbing up into the Top 5 is Italien X-Factor winner Chiara Galiazzo with “Due respire” (#5). So I actually have two X-Factor winning singles in my Top 5. Matt Cardle finally reached the Top 10 with another song from his debut album “Letters”. The title track “Letters” (#7) is his third Top 10 hit from this album. Also new in Top 10 is “Troublemaker” (#9). For Olly Murs and Flo Rida it is their first Top 10 hit.

Between the spots 11 to 20 the fight for a spot in the Top 10 is really hard. While 77 Bombay Street missed their first Top 10 from their new album “Oko town” with “Angel” (#11) Three Days Grace shoot up the chart. “The high road” (#12) could be their second Top 10 hit following 2011’s chart topper “Lost in you”. German dance act Cascada is also in a good position with their Eurovision single “Glorious” (#16). And I shouldn’t forget Matt Cardle. While “Letters” took this last step this week “Sparks” (#15) climbed up 3 spots to a new high.

US-Band The Goo Goo Dolls are this week’s greatest gainer of the week with their new single “Rebel beat” (#39). In their second week this song climbed up more than 40 spots. This is pretty good, but this week there are several songs which climbed up more than 30 spots. Surprisingly high is “Einsamer Stern” (#55) by Matthias Reim. Normally not my type of music this song is really catchy which could bring Matthias Reim his first Top 50 hit on my chart. But he isn’t the only German act climbing up fast. The other act is the new German band Ewig formed by singer Jeanette Biedermann. “Sieh mich an” (#61) also surprised with a climb of 35 spots. And then there is the predicted climb by Aerosmith feat. Carrie Underwood with “Can’t stop loving you” (#62). Pink’s new single “Just give me a reason” (#25) also sprinted up the chart.

The highest new entry comes from Imagine Dragons. Their single “It’s time” (#59) finally reached Austria and my chart. “It’s time” is followed by “Killer” (#60). Italian female rapper Baby K. and Tiziano Ferro collaborated which brought them a good chart debut. Other debuts are “Miracle” (#68) by Hurts, “I couldn’t care less” (#69) by Leslie Clio, “Soak up the fun” (#73) by Coshiva, “Now” (#74) by Paramore, “Two black Cadillacs” (#82) by Carrie Underwood, “Torpedo” (#90) by Jillette Johnson, “Heartbreaker” (#91) by Mia Martina, “Lovedrunk” (#93) by J.O.E.L., “Heart shaped gun” (#94) by SCHMIDT, “We both know” (#95) by Colbie Caillat feat. Gavin DeGraw, “Rest from the streets” (#97) by A Friend In London feat. Carly Rae Jepsen.
