Week 106 – March 9th, 2013

Once more there is only little action in my Top 10. While last week the whole Top 5 didn’t change, this week the Top 3 didn’t move. So Jillette Johnson is at #1 for a big forth week with her chart debut “Torpedo”. She is followed by Taylor Swift’s “I knew you were trouble.”. The podium is completed by Three Days Grace and their beautiful rock song “The high road”. New in the Top 4 is “Just give me a reason" by Pink feat. Nate Ruess in their 9th week. This brings Alanis Morissette a little trouble. For the first time in 20 weeks “Receive” (#5) isn’t in my Top 4. Behind the Top 5 there are some position changes including one Top 10 debut. The Goo Goo Dolls are returning with their new single “Rebel beat” (#9). They replace former #1 “Raver” (#13) by Danish band The Storm.

Last weeks highest new entry “Dark paradise” (#17) by Lana Del Rey only climbed up two spots. Therefore other songs are in a better position to enter the phalanx of my Top 10. In perfect positions are “Hello” (#11) by Kelly Clarkson and “Lens” (#12) by Alanis Morissette. “Hello” could be Kelly Clarkson’s 7th top 10 hit out of her “Stronger” album, but this week “The war is over” (#18) sprinted up 14 spots to a Top 20 spot. So she has the chance to get two Top 10 hits in the next weeks. And finally Mic Donets’s soul hymne “What a night” (#20) reached this part of the chart.

The highest new entry comes from a Scandinavian newcomer. 12 year old Isac Elliot released his first single. “New way home” (#41) is based on Avicii’s hit singles. While I didn’t chart Avicii exept of his alias Tim Berg with “Seek bromance”, I really like this song. You definitelly should check this one out. The Top 50 sees one more new entry with “Verseau” (#47) by Canadian chanson singer Cœur de Pirate. Her other debut is “Cap diamant” (#72). These days my chart sees a lot of German songs. “Schönste Zeit” (“Best time”, #55) by Bosse is this week’s greatest gainer. The highest debut of the German songs is a very beautiful rap song. Normally this isn’t my kind of music, but this one is special. “Zu spät / I remember when” (“Too late / I remember when”, #51) is a German/US cooperation between Fard and Bobby V.. For both it’s their first charting hit.

Other debuts are “Maschine” (“Machine”, #78) by Redweik, “Warten auf Godot” (“Waiting for Godot”, #86) by Destination Anywhere, “Fray your senses” (#87) by Everlaunch feat. Valentine Romanski, “Kite” (#91) by Wilhelm Tell Me, “Tell me (where to begin)” (#93) by Jim Kroft, “The sun” (#99) by Naked Lunch and “Perfect” (#100) by Colour Coding.
