Week 337 – August 12th, 2017

It only lasted one week and now “Cut to the feeling” (#2) by Carley Rae Jepsen dropped one spot. This song was replaced at the top with “Don’t count on me” (#1) by Kate Voegele. For her this is her 5th #1 on my chart and the first on since “Carousel” back in 2015. Kate Voegele is definitely on fire, because of the fact that “World stops spinning” (#4) sprinted into my Top 5 with a three spot climb. Caught between these songs is “Killer” (#3) by Portuguese singer Aurea. “Killer” is a very good song and should have been a regular single, but maybe she will release it in the future. The Top 5 is rounded out with the former #1 “Greatest lovers” (#5) by British singer-songwriter Luke Sital-Singh.

The 2nd part of my Top 10 sees three new songs. The highest of these new songs is by Norma Jean Martine. I definitely love her single “Still in love with you” (#6) when I first saw the video on youtube. Since these days she had four chart entries and now this song is on its way into my Top 5. It is such a shame that this song is nowhere, but on my chart she has a real good chance to get a #1 with this song. Next in line is former #1 “The cure” (#7) by Lady Gaga which dropped two spots. Then there is Austrian band Tagtraeumer. This week they replaced their Top 10 hit “Unendlich gleich” (#12, “Infinitely equal”) with Chrissi Klug with the 2nd official single “Straßenlaternen” (#8, “Street lights”). Still in my Top 10 is Shawn Mendes with “There’s nothing holdin’ me back” (#9) which probably will drop out by next week. The third and last new song in my Top 10 is “Love is blind” (#10) by Jillette Johnson. Her new album “All I ever see in you is me” isn’t as good as her debut album, but “Love is blind” is her 1st Top 10 smash out of this album. This is possibly no #1 song, but still a good song.

After a week with more than ten new entries this week is rather calm. The greatest gainer of the week is “Poor me” (#61) by Shania Twain with a 19 spot climb. This is definitely the biggest news, because of the fact that there are only seven new entries. The highest two debuts are album cuts by Leslie Clio from her album “Purple”. “Lies are gold” (#79) and “Game changer” (#78) debuted outside the Top 70 which isn’t remarkable. The highest official single debut is by New Zealand singer Lorde. Her new one “Perfect places” came in at #86. Other debuts are “Tired of talking” (#90) by LÉON, “Poster child” (#91) by Jo Smith, “Every little thing” (#92) by Carly Pearce and “Love me more” (#93) by Maggie Rose.
