Week 345 – October 7th, 2017

October starts like the end of September. Cold War Kids and Bishop Briggs are celebrating “So tied up” (#1) for a 2nd week at the top. So Taylor Swift is once more at the runner’s up spot with “Look what you made me do” (#2). In general the Top 3 didn’t change and therefore Austrian band Tagtraeumer are still at the podium with “Himmelblaue Couch” (#3, “Sky blue couch”). Behind the Top 3 there are two new acts in my Top 5. First to mention is another artist from Austria. With his first charting song JakeTheBusch reached this part of my chart. “Blinder Passagier” (#4, “Blind passenger”) climbed up three spots. This song is followed by Pink. Her latest smash “What about us”(#5) climbed up one spot.

The 2nd half of my Top 10 is opened with another song by Tagtraeumer. Their latest #1 “Straßenlaternen” (#6, “Street lights”) dropped two spots and is definitely on its way out of this part of my chart. Directly behind is the highest charting country song at the moment. Jillian Jacqueline climbed up two spots with her break-up hymn “Hate me” (#7). Next in line is the first of two new songs in my Top 10. Finally Kelly Clarkson returned with the first single from her upcoming album. “Love so softly” (#8) moved up three spots. The other new one is by Kate Voegele. “Catch me on fire” (#12) is surely a song which could bring her the next #1 on my chart. Caught between these songs is “Gift” (#9, “Poison”) by Madeline Juno which dropped four spots.

This week new entries are pretty rare. An indicator for the slowness of this week’s chart is the greatest gainer of the week “Too much to ask” (#31) by Niall Horan which only climbed up 12 spots. So if you’re looking for the highest debut you’ve to dig deep. The first new song is “I feel love inside” (#77) by Aurea.This song just debuted in my Top 80 and is an album cut as “Hold me in your arms” (#78). Three months ago Aurea released a video to “I feel love inside” where she is featuring Enoque, but I’m charting the album version without Enoque. The highest regular single debut is by Corey Harper. He is debuting with an acoustic single version of his regular single “Favorite part of loving you” (#85).

Other debuts are “Dancing through the wreckage” (#93) by Pat Benatar, “Für ewig” (#94, “For always”) by FYN, “Heavy” (#95) by Anne-Marie, “Red earth & pouring rain” (#96) by Bear’s Den, “Like you” (#98) by Bombs Away feat. Elle Vee and “Brave” (#100) by Freedom Fry.
