Week 518 – January 30th, 2021

Let's start with the change in the leading position. A German singer is replaced by another. For Madeline Juno her single "Über dich" (#1, "Over you") is now her 1st #1. It took her nearly seven years and four months for taking over the lead for the first time. Nice done! She swapped the spot with LEA. Her 1st charting #1 "Du tust es immer wieder" (#2, "You keep doing it") is still doing well, although her other song "Schwarz" (#3, "Black") is waiting for reach the top spot too. Up one spot is "Willow" (#4) by Taylor Swift. New in the Top 5 is "Allein" (#5, "Alone") by Gestört Aber GeiL feat. Tina Naderer. Some might say that this song and the video itself are boring, but I really like Tina Naderer's singing on this song. So watch out for this song to become a possible leader.

Leaving the Top 5 after dropping down is K-pop by Blackpink. Their song "Lovesick girls" (#6) lost a little bit of the spirit, but 15 weeks on chart and still in the Top 10 isn't bad. Definitely a new song in this part of the chart is "Happy" (#7) by Pink. This one is also the only new song in this part. "Nobody else" (#8) by LANY, "Tsunami" (#9) by Annalisa and "Supernova" (#10) by badmómzjay dropped one spot and they are now waiting for getting replaced by other songs which deserve a spot in the Top 10 too.

For the first time in weeks the greatest gainer of the week can be found within the Top 40. Last week "OK love you bye" (#33) by Olivia Dean got awarded. And this week this song did again after climbing up 28 spots. Also the highest debut can be found within the Top 50. It is a song by US newcomer Olivia Rodrigo. Her song "Drivers license" (#42) is doing well nearly everywhere, but for me it took a while before I got into this song. Now "Drivers license" got a pretty solid debut and maybe it will do well in the next weeks.
