Week 567 – January 8th, 2022

This week is quite difficult to interpret. On the one hand I listened to so much music during the holidays which I've not done in a while. On the other hand there are only a handful debuts. So let's start as always with the top songs of the 2nd week in January 2022. Last week's #1 "Red flags" (#2) by Austrian Esther Graf dropped one spot. This made the way free for a long awaited new #1. It is LEA's 1st #1 in 2022 and the first overall #1 for LUNA. Their song "Küsse wie Gift" (#1, "Kisses like poison") swapped the spot with "Red flags". Maybe this is the opening for more #1's by LEA in 2022 and it is absolutely possible that she will reach the mark of at least 5 #1's in 2022 too. Hanging at #3 is Ed Sheeran with "Overpass graffiti". I really like this song and it is still a contender, but "Bite me" (#4) by Avril Lavigne also has its chance. Surely an outsider is "Raindrops" (#5) by Katja Krasavice & Leony. This one is maybe a one-hit-wonder for Katja Krasavice. Some days ago she released her latest single "Narben" ("Scars"). It isn't her worst single, but I don't like it. So it won't be a chart hit for me, but I can understand why some are like listening to this one.

Up two spots and now heavily knocking at the door to the Top 5 is "I bet you think about me" (#6) by Taylor Swift feat. Chris Stapleton. This one has also the chance to reach #1. Directly behind you can find the former #1 "Shivers" (#7) by Ed Sheeran. Next in line and up one spot is Adele's latest single "Oh my god" (#9). On its way out is former #1 "Parfum" (#9, "Perfume") by LEA. This week's Top 10 is rounded out with "Tschau tschau" (#10, "Bye bye") by Esther Graf.

Last week "I quit drinking" (#22) by Kelsea Ballerini & LANY was awarded with the greatest gainer of the week. This week this song climbed up 19 spots and is awarded again. There is also another song which climbed up 19 spots in this week's edition. It is "Deine Nummer" (#41, "Your number") by LEA which is also awarded. As always after the greatest gainer of the week I'm writing about this week's debuts. Unfortunately only two songs are debuting. The highest new entry is "When I'm gone" (#91) by Alesso & Katy Perry. The other one is "Liebe 404" (#92, "Love 404") by Alexa Feser.
