Week 602 – September 10th, 2022

Tomorrow the new school year is starting, and I can celebrate this fact with a new #1. In fact only the song changed, but not the band. So still at the top Pale Waves can be found. Their song “Jealousy” (#1) climbed up one spot and swapped spots with “Lies” (#2). This is the only change in the Top 5. This means that “Last cigarette” (#3) by Morgan Wade is still at the podium. “Sad = sexy” (#4) by Esther Graf is once more missing the Top 3 by one spot and “Irrelevant” (#5) by Pink is rounding out this week’s Top 5.

“What he didn’t do” (#6) by Carly Pearce climbed up one spot and could earn her the first Top 5 appearance soon. Also up one spot are “Girl of your dreams” (#7) by Dylan and “All these nights” (#8) by Tom Grennan. These three songs left former Top 3 smash “Mariposas” (#9) by sangiovanni & Aitana behind. Another week in the Top 10 got “This hell” (#10) by Rina Sawayam.

I personally haven’t heard a lot of MisterWives in the past. This week the are very strong after climbing up 15 spots with Easy which is awarded for the greatest gainer of the week. As always, this information is followed by the new entries. This week saw 16 new songs and six of these songs entered the Top 50. The highest one is by Italian singer Annalissa. Her Italian summer smash “Tropicana” with Boomdabash failed to enter my chart. Now she returns with her follow up “Bellissima” (#42, “Extremely beautiful”). I really like this one and so I predict a big climb in the next edition. This debut is directly followed by the debut of “How do I say goodbye” (#43) by Dean Lewis. His new single is a very emotional song, and I absolutely can comprehend his feelings as my dad has dementia as well as cancer. These two songs are followed by a Pale Waves triple. The higher ranked debut by them is “Clean” (#45). The others are “Reasons to live” (#46) and “The hard way” (#47).

Other debuts are “Fallin’ with me” (#49) by The Struts, “Dare you to doubt me” (#59) by The Script, “Steal the moon” (#60) by Sarah Bella – this song has been released as a single in 2017/18 –, “Million dollar baby” (#61) by Ava Max, “Don’t change” (#53) and “I must walk away” (#62) by Anouk, “We used to love” (#90) by Leslie Clio, “Sick love” (#91) by Loona, “Bigger than me” (#92) by Louis Tomlinson, “Tissues” (#93) by Yungblud and “Love and hate” (#97) by Camylio.
