Week 632 – April 8th, 2023

 Normally during holidays I’m listening more to music than in other weeks, but this week was different. This week saw hardly any movement and so most part in the Top 10 didn’t move. In fact, two songs swapped their spots, and one song is new in this section. Let’s start with the first things first. “Flowers” (#1) got its 5th week at the top and so this song is definitely Miley Cyrus’ longest running #1. As last week “Ugly” (#2) by Dylan Conrique is at the runner’s-up spot. Completing the podium is “Underwater” (#3) by Kwon Eun Bi. Just outside the Top 3 is 1986zig with “Engel” (#4, “Angel”). New in the Top 5 is “Carry me home” (#5) by Morgan Wade.

This song replaced “Nie wieder sehen” (#6, “Never see again”) by JuJu in my Top 5. The next three songs are very stable. None of these songs moved. So “Sag nicht sorry” (#7, “Don’t say sorry”) by LEA is leading the pack. Next in line are “Surrender my heart” (#8) by Carly Rae Jepsen and “Unwanted” (#9) by Pale Waves. The only new song in the Top 10 marks the comeback by Ellie Goulding. Her song “Like a saviour” (#10) climbed up one spot.

The award for the greatest gainer goes to Carrie Underwood. Her song “Velvet heartbreak” climbed up 15 spots. As always, this information is followed by the information of the highest debut. This week saw the return by German singer Madeline Juno. Her song “Ich sterbe zuerst” (#79, “I die first”) is the highest of a bunch of debuts by German artists. The 2nd best debut is “Nicht jugendfrei” (#83, “Explicit”) by 1986zig who is also on the waiting list for a new #1 in the next weeks. Then there are debuting “Mutprobe” (#86, “Dare”) by LEA, “Jealous of my friends” (#90) by Bea Miller and “Heartbreak hotel” (#94) by Amelia.
