Week 631 – April 1st, 2023

Believe or not, but Miley Cyrus is still at the top with her smash “Flowers” (#1). This is now her 4th chart topping week with this song. Still in the hunt are the same songs as last week, mostly because the whole Top 4 is stable. So “Ugly” (#2) by Dylan Conrique can be found at the runner’s-up spot. Completing the podium is K-Pop by Kwon Eun Bi. Her song “Underwater” (#3) is now in its 7th charting week. Also in its 7th week is “Engel” (#4, “Angel”) by 1986zig. As pointed out last week this one could be his 1st #1. Back in the Top 5 is former #1 hit “Nie wieder sehen” (#5, “Never see again”) by JuJu.

Next to the Top 5 is Morgan Wade with her album cut “Carry me home” (#6). This song climbed up two spots. Next in line is another non-moving Top 10 hit. “Sag nicht sorry” (#7, “Don’t say sorry”) by LEA is among the most successful songs from her album “Fluss” (“River”). Dropping down three spots is former #1 “Surrender my heart” (#8) by Carly Rae Jepsen. This brings me to two more non-moving songs which are rounding out this week’s Top 10. First to mention is former #1 “Unwanted” (#9) by Pale Waves. The other one is “Wenn’s am schönsten ist” (#10, “When it’s at its best”) by Silbermond.

This week the award for the greatest gainer goes to Avril Lavigne. Her album cuts “Avalanche” (#28) and “Déjà vu” (#29) climbed up 13 spots and got awarded. For the highest debut you must dig a little bit deeper as in the last weeks. It is “Roles reversed” (#71) by Mimi Webb. I like this song, but I’m still not sure if it will play a big role in 2023’s music. Other debuts are “Velvet heartbreak” (#72) and “Burn” (#73) by Carrie Underwood, “Temporary” (#84) by Alexa Cappelli, “Hot all the time” (#85) by Leah Kate, “The good, the bad & the bitch” (#87) by Megan McKenna, “When I move” (#88) by KARA – this is the bands comeback single –, “Wo es hingeht” (#89, “Where to go) by Helena FIN & Francey, “Deep end” (#91) by Stacey Ryan, “Sleep at night” (#92) by Cat Burns, “Ruin my life” (#93) by Zolita, “Still believe in crazy in love” (#94) by Preston D Barnes, “Life after life” (#95) by Elijah Woods, “Was mir gefällt” (#97, “What I like”) by AYLIVA, “Everybody knows it” (#98) by Halflives and “Cheshire” (#99) by ITZY.
