When “Temporary” (#1) first reached #1 I didn’t thought that this song would spent five weeks at the top. With this week Alexa Cappelli is celebrating the fifth week at the top. That’s unbelievable. Directly behind is “River” (#2) by Miley Cyrus. “Velvet heartbreak” (#3) by Carrie Underwood is caught between Miley Cyrus, because next in line is former and five time #1 “Flowers” (#5). This song is maybe the most played song in 2023. Just landed in the Top 5 with its first week in the Top 10 is “Only problem” (#5) by Pale Waves.

Dropping out of the Top 5 is “Burn” (#6) by Carrie Underwood. Up three spots and in reach of the Top 5 is “Renn zurück” (#7, “Run back”) by Esther Graf & Fourty. I really like this song, but I don’t see this song topping the chart. So there is a chance for other songs which are relatively new in this part of the chart. Still holding its spot is long-time former #1 “Nie wieder sehen” (#8, “Never see again”) by JuJu. Next week will give the answer if this song is spending week 26 in the Top 10 too. Last but not least there are two more new songs in the Top 10. First to mention is another song by Pale Waves. Their song “Without you” (#9) climbed up seven spots to be part in the Top 10. The other new song is “Up to me” (#10) by LANY.

This week saw a lot of songs climbing up the chart very fast and there is a trend – just for now – that songs with a jazz sound are doing well. Two songs climbed up 26 spots and are awarded with the award for the greatest gainer of the week. The higher ranked one is “So good (at what you do)” (#21) by m els which was part of the qualification in Estonia for the Eurovision Song Contest. The other one is “Talk to me” (#27) by Mina Okabe who had last year a big hit with “Every second” (peaked at #4). Just failed to be awarded by one spot is another song with this sound. It is “Dive” (#29) by Olivia Dean who had a #1 on my chart with “OK love you bye”. I can’t say it for sure, but I think that these three songs will dominate my chart for at least a little while.

The highest debut is by Austrian singer Esther Graf. She just released “Exes” (#51) which failed to enter the Top 50 but reach it next week. The 2nd best debut is by Clara Mae. Her song “Thank god these walls can’t talk” gave its debut at #73. Other debuts are “Meltdown” (#85) by Niall Horan, “I hate love” (#86) by Kelly Clarkson feat. Steve Martin, “Muero” (#87, “I die”) by Álvaro Soler and “Spark” (#90) by Ed Sheeran.
