Week 653 – September 2nd, 2023

After 44 weeks Taylor Swift had to leave the chart with her former chart topper “Midnight”, but there is not time for sadness. This week she took over with a song from “Red (Taylor’s version)”. “The very first night” (#1) climbed up two spots. This means that last week’s top song “Alles und mehr” (#2, “Everything and more) had to leave and can now be found at the runner’s up spot. Beside that there is another song by Taylor Swift in the Top 3. It is her recent official single “I can see you” (#3). This time it is from “Speak now (Taylor’s version)”. And there is one more new song in the Top 5. German singer Clueso is doing well with “Du und L.A.” (#4, “You and L.A.)” which also climbed up five spots. While this songs are on the rise former Top 3 hit “Through your eyes” (#5) by Morgan Wade dropped three spots.

The next two songs in line dropped out of the Top 5. The higher ranked one is “What I want” (#6) by Lena. The other one is “Psychopath” (#7) by Morgan Wade. Then there is the highest ranked new song in the Top 10. It is “Summer fling” (#8) by Chloe Jane. I’ve not though this one could get in there, but hey better at the end of the summer then never. “Jaded” (#9) by Miley Cyrus dropped three spots. By the way I just purchased her album “Endless summer vacation”. Last but not least, there is the Top 10 debut for “Die besten Dinge” (#10, “The best things”) by Juli.

Last week Pink’ latest single “Runaway” (#25) was the highest debut and now this song is awarded with the greatest gainer of the week after climbing up 16 spots. Although there have been a lot of debuts in this week’s edition only one song landed it in the Top 50. It is “Urlaub” (#50, “Vacation”) by Austrian Esther Graf who had become a chart regular over the last few years. So this absolutely nothing surprising. The 2nd best debut is by Canadian singer Tyler Shaw who had several hits over the years. Now he returned with “Driving” (#56).

Other debuts are “Wias sei soi” (#58, “How it should be”) by Chris Steger, “Hate yourself” (#59) by Lost Hearts, “Hot city” (#60) by Bonnie McKee, “Perhaps” (#80) by Guns N’ Roses, “Critic” (#86) and “Narcissist” (#87) by Avery Anna, “Coma” (#88) by Taylor Acorn & Cassadee Pope, “Used to be young” (#91) by Miley Cyrus, “One night” (#93) by Barenaked Ladies, “Mustang” (#94) by Katie Noel, “First crush feeling” (#95) by Addyson Jo and “Schmetterling” (#98, “Butterfly”) by Baby B3ns.
