Week 655 – September 16th, 2023

The first week in this school year is over and German singer Clueso is still topping the chart with his recent smash “Du und L.A.” (#1, “You and L.A.”). It should top the chart for at least one more week, but with “I can see you” (#3) by Taylor Swift as well as “Summer fling” (#4) by Chloe Jane there is competition around here. You also shouldn’t count out “Alles und mehr” (#2, “Everything and more”) by Tagtraeumer although it isn’t likely that this song will bounce back to #1. Dropping one spot is former #1 “The very first night” (#5) by Taylor Swift.

If you have bet that “Psychopath” (#8) by Morgan Wade will climb up two spots in its 18th charting week you would have won. This bounce came absolutely unexpected. This song is followed by Madeline Juno’s “Lovesong” (#7). The next three songs in line are new in the Top 10. The highest ranked one is “Sofia” (#8) by Austrian singer fiio. Although I’m not a fan of his music – I just gave his older singles a try – I’m sure that this song will end in the Top 5 at least. Then there is “Superbloodmoon” (#9) by Holl Humberstone feat. d4vd. I really like this and the following duet. “We’re not in love anymore” (#10) by Knox feat. Charlotte Sands climbed up eight spots the catch a spot in the Top 10.

“Genug” (#28, “Enough”) by Mark Forster was awarded with the greatest gainer of the week after climbing up 11 spots. The highest debut is by Selena Gomez. Her song “Single soon” (#33) is doing well for the moment, but here I’m not sure if this song will have a long run on my chart. I’ve the exact mixed feelings for the 2nd best debut. It is “Ms. Jackson” (#39) by German rapper Pashanim who had some hits since 2019. On my chart “Ms. Jackson” is his debut, but as you all know rap music isn’t the kind of music I’m normally listening too and so I predict a short chart run for this song.

Other debuts are “Easy” (#60) by Alexandra Kay, “Care less” (#71), “Ex I never had” (#72), “Somewhere” (#73) all by LANY, “Unbreakup” (#79) by Leah Kate, “Wasted daydream” (#87) by The Hackens Boys, “We don’t fight anymore” (#88) by Carly Pearce feat. Chris Stapleton, “The best part (French version)” (#89) by Kate Voegele & Bien, “Toxic baggage” (#90) by Anna Grey, “Heart on ice” (#96) by Jon Langston and “Something I would do” (#100) by Nicole Croteau.
