Week 719 – December 7th, 2024

Freya Ridings scored her 1st #1 on my chart with “Dancing in a hurricane” (#1). This song climbed up three spots to reach the summit. It outperformed last week’s top song “Ghost me” (#2) by Holly Humberstone by one spot. Holding its spot in the Top 3 is “Lieb dich, hass dich” (#3, “Love you, hate you”) by Austrian singer Revelle. Next in line is “Moonlit floor” (#4) by LISA. For her this is her first solo appearance in the Top 5. Dropping three spots is former #1 “Ich mag dich” (#5, “I like you”) by LEA.

“Erase you” (#6) by Mimi Webb had to leave the Top 5 after dropping one spot. “Cocoon” (#7) is a little bit a surprise. Holly Humberstone’s song climbed up one in its 11th charting week which is kinda unusual for me. The next three songs in this part of the chart are seen for the first time in the Top 10. The highest ranked one of these songs is “Träum” (#8, “Dream”) by Lemo. He is followed by Federhall’s “Melodiös” (#9, “Melodic”). Rounding out this week’s Top 10 is another song by Freya Ridings. Her song “Orange blood” (#17) did it after climbing up seven spots.

The award for the greatest gainer goes to ROSÉ. Her song “Number one girl” (#26) climbed up 25 spots and easily entered the Top 30. I really believe that this song will end in the Top 10, but who knows. The highest debut is a cover song. Bea and her Business just released “The scientist” (#60). This is the cover of Coldplay’s 2002’s hit. I’m not the biggest fan of this song, but I like this version. It will be interesting to see where this song will peak.

Other debuts are “Feel something” (#80) by Pink, “Our song” (#81) by Pink, “Just say I’m sorry” (#82) by Pink feat. Chris Stapleton, “In walked you” (#96) by William Michael Morgan and “Free like you” (#97) by Maddie & Tae.
