Week 720 – December 14th, 2024

The December slump has caught me. There are only three new entries for this week’s edition and two of them have been released as regular singles back in 2023 before the album’s release in 2024, but let’s start with the first things first. Leading the pack for a 2nd week is British singer Freya Ridings with her song “Dancing in a hurricane” (#1). Up one spot is Austrian singer Revelle. Her song “Lieb dich, hass dich” (#2, “Love you, hate you”) is now in the runner’s up spot. Unfortunately, I’m still not sure if this song will go all the way. This song swapped spot with former #1 “Ghost me” (#3) by Holly Humberstone. Holding its spot is “Moonlit floor” (#4) by LISA. She is now not the only singer from BLACKPINK with a solo song in the Top 10. Also non-moving is “Ich mag dich” (#5, “I like you”) by LEA.

Up two spots is “Träum” (#6, “Dream”) by Lemo. This song is followed by one of two new songs in the Top 10. It is “That’s so true” (#7) by Gracie Abrams which climbed up seven spots to earn a spot in this part of the chart. The next two songs each climbed up one spot. First to mention is “Melodiös” (#8, “Melodic”) by Federhall. The other one is “Blood orange” (#9) by Freya Ridings. Her she is. The other singer from BLACKPINK. ROSÉ had a big hit with “APT.” with Bruno Mars which I charted only down the chart. Her follow-up is doing very well. “Number one girl” (#26) reached the Top 10 in its 4th charting week after climbing up 16 spots. This climb earned this song the award for the greatest gainer of the week.

Not only ROSÉ is awarded with the greatest gainer award she also managed to have the highest debut with her third single “Toxic till the end” (#51) in a very short time. Although this one just missed the Top 50 by one spot, I believe that it will reach the top part of the chart very soon. Other debuts are “Baby tu” (#59, “Baby you”) by Luca Vasta and “L’amore” (#60, “Love”).
