Week 723– January 4th, 2025

Let’s face it. My chart is getting old these days. Nearly 50 % of the songs I’m currently charting have ten or more charting weeks. It’s nothing to worry about, but it’s an interesting fact. I can’t remember when the last time I had such a high number on my chart. Now let’s return to the actual week. “Number one girl” (#1) by ROSÉ is defending the crown while there is a new song in the Top 3. “That’s so true” (#2) by Gracie Abrams climbed up two spots. It’s her song to do so and I believe it is ready for a takeover. Dropping one spot is former #1 “Dancing in a hurricane” (#3) by Freya Ridings. Sadly “Moonlit floor” (#4) by LISA had to leave the Top 3 and here is the chance for reaching the top spot is very little. Back in the Top 5 is former #1 “Ghost me” (#5) by Holly Humberstone.

The other former #1 which is up one spot is “Ich mag dich” (#6, “I like you”) by LEA. Directly behind you can find the first of three new songs in the Top 10. It is “Baby tu” (#7, “Baby you”) by Luca Vasta. It’s definitely a song which made me by her album “Luna” (“Moon”). Austrian singer Revelle dropped three spots with “Lieb dich, hass dich” (#8, “Love you, hate you”). It should be the songs last week in the Top 10, but her other song “Zu spat” (#11, “Too late”) just missed this part by one spot. Finally Nina Chuba reached my Top 10 for the first time in her career. “Fliegen” (“Flying”) is in at #9. Now she has not one but two songs in the Top 10 as “Fata Morgana” (#10) is also in.

The award for the greatest gainer of the week goes to “Love letter” (#24) by Knox which climbed up 27 spots. The chances are good that this song will be in the Top 10 very soon as well as “Not The 1975” (#26) which climbed up 26 spots will be seen there soon. The highest debut is “Irgendwohin” (#70, “Somewhere”) by Antje Schomaker feat. Eva Briegel. Other debuts are “Huckepack” (#77, “Piggyback”) by Antje Schomaker, “Watch this” (#84) by TAELA, “Truck on fire” (#87) by Carly Pearce and “Ich sterbe nicht” (#96, “I’m not dying”) by Lika Doss.
