Week 741 – May 10th, 2025

It looks like Nina Chuba is stay longer at the top with her smash hit “Unsicher” (#1). Her song is now topping the chart for five non consecutive weeks. New at #2 is “Starcrossed” by Kings Elliot. I definitely haven’t seen it coming that a 50’s inspired song will end up so high, but I love this song. Directly behind is Madline Juno with her song “Hab ich dir je gesagt…” (#3, “Have I ever told you…”). He recent single “f*ck marry kill” failed my expectations with the first listens, but I will give this song another chance and maybe it will also enter. Sarah Connor’ first #1 hit “Heut’ ist alles gut” (#4, “Today everything is okay”) dropped out of the Top 3 for the first time in weeks. US newcomer Sombr finally reached the Top 5 with his hit “Undressed” (#5) after climbing up two spots.

Country pop by Dasha is doing well. Her recent single “Not at this party” (#6) climbed up two spots and is knocking at the door to the Top 5. I’m not sure if she will do it, but there is a light chance. Dropping two spots are the next two songs which are “Crazy” (#7) by COSBY and “Was passiert” (#8, “What happens”) by ok.danke.tschüss. This leads to the two new songs in this part of the chart. Austrian singer eventually placed her single “Someone else” (#9) in there. For the first time in a while Ariana Grande returned to this part. Her song “Twilight zone” (#10) climbed up three spots.

The greatest gainer of the week is “Risk” (#26) by Gracie Abrams after climbing up 26 spots. Last week there had been a bunch of debuts, but this week there are only six. The highest one is “Always be us” (#82) by David J & Frawley. Last year they had another duet with “After we broke up” which did well on my chart. Now the return and not sure if this song will reach the same status as her first duet. Other debuts are “Wieder&wieder” (#83, “Again and again”) by Cosima Kiby, “Jungle” (#92) by Sugababes, “Woman in love” (#93) by Lucy Thomas, “Commitment” (#95) by Craig David & Tiwa Savage and “The white light of the morning” (#96) by SYML.
