Week 742 – May 17th, 2025

 In the middle of the month of May Nina Chuba continues her run at the top with her song “Unsicher” (#1, “Insecure”). It’s six weeks since her debut and since that she is dominating the chart. I still don’t see an end of this domination although the other two top debuts of the same week are in the Top 3 too. “Starcrossed” (#2) by Elliot King and “Hab ich dir je gesagt…” (#3, “Have I ever told you…”) are completing the podium. Up one spot and now at #4 is “Undressed” by US newcomer Sombr. This song swapped spots with former #1 “Heut’ ist alles gut” (#5, “Today everything is okay”).

Austrian singer Felicia Lu is up three spots with her song “Someone else” (#6). Maybe it will enter the Top 5 by next week. Down one is country pop by Dasha. Her song “Not at this party” (#7) failed to enter the Top 5 and should be out of the Top 10 within the next few weeks. Ariana Grande’s “Twilight zone” (#8) climbed up two spots to reach a new peak. “Crazy” (#9) by COSBY dropped two spots as well as “Was passiert” (#10, “What happens”) by ok.danke.tschüss which is rounding out this week’s Top 10.

Finally, Anouk reached the Top 20. Her song “Where the mind goes” (#15) climbed up 17 spots and is awarded with the greatest gainer of the week. For the highest debut you have to go down to the lower half of the chart. Debutin is the Canadian collaboration between Avril Lavigne and Simple Plan. Their song “Young & dumb” (#63) is this week’s highest debut. One spot behind you can find the 2nd highest debut which is “Love me to heaven” (#64) by US band Jonas Brothers.

Other debuts are “Crocodile tears” (#70) by TAELA, “One door closes” (#81) by Ella Henderson & Breeland, “Flatlining” (#84), “Girl” (#85) and “Elvis impersonators” (#86) all by Holly Humberstone, “Über rot” (#91, “Through red”) by Liska & Pablu, “Locked in your love” (#92) by Girl Named Tom, “When it’s raining” (#94) by Borderline, “When god closes doors” (#98) by Jordana Bryant and “Norte a sur” (#99, “North to south”) by Ana Saia.
