Week 745– June 7th, 2025

Nina Chuba is prolonging her run at the top with “Unsicher” (#1, “Insecure”). Only one song in my chart history since 2011 did better and the questions if this song will equalize next week. It will definitely be a tough choice. The next three songs didn’t move. So “Hab ich dir je gesagt…” (#2, “Have I ever told you…“) is now for three consecutive weeks at the runner’s up spot. 50’s inspired song “Starcrossed” (#3) by Kings Elliot is still in the hunt. Also still in the position to reach the Top 3 or more is “Undressed” (#4) by Sombr. New in the Top 5 is Anouk with “Where the mind goes” (#5) after climbing up two spots.

Dropping out of the top 5 is “Twilight zone” (#6) by Ariana Grande. Former #1 “Heut’ ist alles gut” (#7, “Today everything is okay”) by Sarah Connor dropped one spot. She will debut next week with her new single “Wilde Nächte” (“Wild nights”) from her new album. Here I can say that this song will perform better than “FICKA”. Rounding out this week’s Top 10 are three more non-moving songs. The highest ranked one is “Hals über Kopf” (#8, “Head over heels”) by Jacob Elias. “End of the world” (#9) by Miley Cyrus and “Risk” (#10) by Gracie Abrams are the other two songs.
Last week “Hello stranger” (#44) by Kwon Eun Bi had been the greatest gainer in its 7th week. I don’t have this very often, but this song dropped 12 spots and left the Top 50 and failed to continue to run up the chart. This week Anouk is doing very well with her single “Set this thing on fire” (#26) which climbed up 19 spots. Therefor it is the greatest gainer of the week.

Some things must have changed lately as there are three debuts within the Top 20. The highest one is by Austrian singer Luna Antonia who recently had a Top 30 hit with “Vakuum” (“Vacuum”). Now she returns with her late in January released single “KURT COBAIN”. I really like this one, specially the line

“Dacht, wenn ich groß bin, mach‘ ich Party wie die andern
Boah, ich liebe schlaf“

Boah, I love sleeping“

I really can relate to that. Nothing against parties! Two more songs in German got the Top 20 debut. The 2nd best is by chart dominating singer Nina Chuba. Her new single “Wenn das Liebe ist” (“If this is love”) is in at #19. Sure this isn’t as good as debut with “Unsicher”, but has anybody believed she will do it again this soon? She will return to the Top 10 with this song and I really hyped for her new album. I don’t believe that this song will do as well as “Unsicher”, but it doesn’t need to do and I’m sure it couldn’t at it is very hard on my chart to get this number. Last but not least Austrian singer Esther Graf released her new single “Wenn’s am schönsten ist” (#20, “When it’s at its best”). Maybe it isn’t the best out of this songs, but it has grown on me with every listen.

Three more songs got a debut within the Top 50. First to mention is German band ok.danke.tschüss who recently debuted with “Therapie” (#53) and just released with “Milano” (#47) another single. I like this one better and it has the summer vibe for the upcoming summer holidays. I believe that they will return to the Top 10 with this one. The next one is “Die a million times” (#48) by German singer FLØRE. This song is very catchy and outperformed her only song I charted before. The future shines bright for this one and I see a possibility for reaching the Top 20 and higher. Singer ÁSDÍS form Iceland who lives in Berlin is back on my chart with her song “Pick up” (#50). As I have written for FLØRE’s song this one could be a hit for me too. Only time will tell if these songs will do well.

Arnold Schwarzenegger, “Nie die Musik” (#89, “Never the music”) by CÉLINE, “Two things” (#90) by Kelsea Ballerini, “Summer nights” (#91) by LUNAX feat. myne, “Hanging on by a thread” (#96) by CITIZEN, “I don’t care” (#97) by The Kowloons and “Zahide did it better” (#98) by ZAH1DE.
