Week 810 – September 12th, 2026

The consequence of having a younger chart is that a lot of songs are not sprinting up the chart as within an older one. This week the Top 3 is the same as last week and as the week before. That means the Itzy singer Yuna is holding the top spot for a third consecutive week with “Ice cream” (#1). Former #1 “Look at my life” (#2) by Gracie Abrams is stuck at the runner’s up spot while “Lemonade” (#3) by aespa is completing the podium again. For the first time in the Top 5 is “Chemie” (#4). For LEA this is her return to this part. For Hearts2Hearts the Top 5 entry with their single “Lemon tang” (#5) is a premiere.

Six weeks ago former #1 “Moonlight” (#5) by Jung Soyeon returned to the Top 5. This week it had to leave this part for a 2nd time. Also leaving the Top 5 is “Bed on fire” (#4) by G Flip. “Rivers” (#8) by Rea Garvey & Imran is up two spots and hunting a spot in the Top 5. Down two spots is former #1 “キミがいないと” (#9, “Without you”) by Ayane. The only new song in this part is “Don’t leave me on the dancefloor” (#10) by Carly Rae Jepsen. Although debuting very high the song needed some time to enter this part.

As last week the award for the greatest gainer goes to Gracie Abrams with “Cool” (#41). After last week’s 26 spots climb “Cool” climbed up another 15 spots this week. That leads me as always to this week’s debuts. You can divide these in two major parts. First debut section is all about Blackpink. Three out of the four members just released new solo singles with different success. Let’s start with LISA. For me her solo work is either a hit or a miss. This time her homage to Thailand it is a big yes for me. Her song “SaWaDiKa” entered directly at #17. It could be her 2nd solo Top 10 hit following the 2024/25 hit song “Moonlit floor” (peaked at #3 in 2024) which was heavily inspired by Six Pence Non The Richer’s “Kiss me”. In at #18 is JISOO with her 4th solo single “Click”. While her 1st two solo appearances “Flower” and “Earthquake” failed to enter my chart, she had a #1 hit with “Eyes closed” and Zayn earlier this year. Sure, she has another single out there where she is one of two featured acts, but here I maybe chart this one later. And then there is Jennie. Her more K-Pop oriented solo singles early in her career did a lot better than her later work. So “Solo” (released in 2018) reached its peak at #17 in 2019. Her follow up solo single “You & me” (released in 2023) peaked at #1 in 2024. Since that only her singles “Mantra” (peaked at #95 and lasted two weeks) in 2024 and “Less than a lover” (actually peaking at #47) charted. Now she released her indie pop EP “FALLEN ANGEL” with “Less than a lover” and the latest single title track “FALLEN ANGEL”. Although I’m not into this kind of indie pop I have to admit that I like “FALLEN ANGEL” to give it a debut at #79.

Caught between these major parts of my debuts is one song which landed a Top 30 debut. It is the comeback single “DEJAVU” (#24) by Kwon Eun Bi. She had two major hits on my chart with “Esper” (peaked at #13 in 2022) and “Underwater” (peaked at #3 in 2023). Now she returns strong and maybe she could reach the Top 3 again with this latest release.

The 2nd major part for my debuts is from the airing C-Drama “The Early Spring”. This one is more slice of life orientated than plot heavy, but this drama works for me. Out of this drama four songs from the soundtrack got their debut. The highest one is “此刻” (#59, “This moment”) by Tia Ray which is the dramas closing theme song. This song is her chart debut, and it should do well. Next in line is the opening song for this drama. It is “她” (#60, “Her”) by Li Yuning. And there is another one which just missed the Top 60. It is “落空” (#61, “Fall through”) by Wei Bi. All these songs are featured numerous times in this drama. As well as Tia Ray, Li Yuning and Wei Bi are giving their chart debut. Also debuting is another song by Wei Bi. The song “歪门的哲理” (#94, “Unorthodox philosophy”) just got its debut.

Other debuts are “Herz ist voll” (#63, “Heart is full”) by LARA, “The siren” (#71) by Kate Voegele, “Fassade” (#90, “Façade”) by Elif, “Alive” (#95) by Cascada and “Ein Kuss ohne Liebe” (#97, “A kiss without love”) by Pia-Sophie.
