Week 132 – September 7st, 2013

Four weeks ago Selena Gomez debuted within the Top 10. This week “Slow down” took over and is now leading the pack. Last week’s #1 “Spiral” (#2) by Alanis Morissette dropped one. The podium is completed by Avril Lavigne. “Rock N Roll” (#3) is now her best charting song and maybe her first #1 in the next weeks. Austrians top song is now outside the Top 3. “I know you’ll wait for me” (#4) dropped one, but for Rising Girl feat. DJ Lil Dirty it is still a big hit. The world’s biggest smash hit at the moment “Wake me up!” (#5) continued the good run by breaking into the top spots. Three songs are new in the Top 10. For the first time since April 2012 Anouk reached the Top 10 with one of her songs. All the official singles of her latest album failed to reach this part of the chart. Finally the promotional single “Pretending as always” (#8) cracked the Top 10. Then “Burn” (#9) by Ellie Goulding and “The truth about love” (#10) by Pink entered the Top 10.

After only one week South Korean girl bind 9Muses dropped out of the Top 10 with “Wild” (#13). Kelly Clarkson also dropped out with both of her songs. “Love somebody” (#19) reached the Top 20 in its 4th week. So Maroon 5 continued their way after their last charting singles also reached the Top 20. Matt Cardle’s songs are always late burners. “Anyone else” (#20) is no exception. In its 9th week this song reached finally the Top 20. While I got his 2nd album a few weeks ago the leading single from his 3rd album debuted this week. “Loving you” (#26) is a duet with Melanie C. This song could be a faster rising one than his other songs. Birdy’s latest single “Wings” (#37) is getting more and more airplay in Austria. This week she climbed up 22 spots which brings her the greatest gainer of the week.

To find the next best new entries you have to go a little bit deeper. The 2nd best comes from Portugal’s star Aurea. The album track “Look at me now” (#58) brings her a solid debut. After the success of “Nothing left to say” this one could be her next Top 10 hit, because it is one of my favourite songs from her “Soul notes” album. This debut is followed by the chart debut for Jamie Cullum. His song “You’re not the only one” (#59) is a nice, catchy track. Alex Hepburn also placed her first single on my chart. “Miss Misery” (#60) is the 5th single from her debut album “Together alone”. This song sounds interesting with the deep voice of Alex Hepburn.

Finally Germany’s first “The Voice” winner Ivy Quainoo released the leading single from her sophomore album. “Wildfires (light it up)” (#70) is a very good song but nothing near her debut single “Do you like what you see”.
