Week 134 – September 21st, 2013

For a second week in a row my Top 10 remains nearly constant. Therefore the whole Top 3 didn’t change their position with “Slow down” by Selena Gomez is leading the pack for a third week. Selena Gomez is followed by “Spiral” (#2) and “Rock N Roll” (#3). New in the Top 5 is Anouk. Her song “Pretending as always” (#4) is now a big contender for the next week. Her other songs are still climbing up the chart. Only one song entered the Top 10 this week. It is “Going insane” (#10) by Mic Donet. This is his 3rd Top 10 hit from “Plenty of love” and the first since “Pray 4 rain” which peaked at #4 last year.

Outside the Top 10 a lot of the tracks are waiting in a line for entering this part of the chart. “Love somebody” (#11) by Maroon 5 is introducing this waiting list. Not far behind for a premiere in the Top 10 is “Kill” (#11) by Anouk. Anouk presented this week a new non-album single which will debut on my chart next week. Bonnie McKee’s catchy “American girl” (#13) is rising and rising. At the moment there is not missing much and she can score her first Top 10 smash hit on my chart. Or is Jillette Johnson ready for her next Top 10 hit(s)? Both “Flood the ocean” (#15) and “Cameron” (#16) are really hot. Not to forget about the beautiful duet by Taylor Swift & Ed Sheran. Their song “Everything has changed” (#17) is also doing well. Last but not least I should mention that “Loving you” (#18) by Matt Cardle & Melanie C reached my Top 20. So you see there are a lot of opportunities.

Or is there a chance for a song I’ve not mentioned above? Looking over the section between 21 and 30 there are also a lot of fresh new songs on my list. From Christiana Aguilera over the deep voice by Alex Hepburn to Birdy there are a lot of possibilities. Between all these possibilities there is this week’s greatest gainer. This week it is “Firestarter” (#28) by Samantha Jade. Two weeks ago she debuted very low, but this song is growing more and more. We will see if she is rising over the next weeks as fast as she did over the last two weeks.

The highest debut comes from Ben Montague. The first single from his 2nd album “Tales of flying and falling” which has been released last year entered finally my chart after the last song from his debut album is going down the chart. “Love like stars” (#50) is a beautiful song and brings him another Top 50 hit. But he isn’t only debuting his first single from this album. Four spots behind the 2nd single from this album “Another hard fall” (#54) is also debuting this week. Between these Ben Montague debuts – at the moment I believe that his 2nd album is much stronger than his debut album – there is one more debut. It is “Grenzenlos” (#53, "Boundless") by German band Glasperlenspiel. This is one more good track by this German Electro Pop band.
