Magic! - Rude

Points: 752.1
Peak: #20
Weeks: 16
Album: Don't kill the magic

What a sleeper! "Rude" had been released back in October 2013 in Canada. Starting from Canada they entire world could be taken. No, not the entire world. A few people could resist this magical song. I had some problems with this song too, but when it had its breakthrough in Europe I can't help myself swinging with this song.

Avril Lavigne - You ain't seen nothin' yet

Points: 753.5
Peak: #14
Weeks: 14 (still charting)
Album: Avril Lavigne

This is the first entry by Avril Lavigne within my Top 100. As I charted the not so good "Hello Kitty" it shouldn't be a surprise to find a song by here in this part of the review. "You ain't see nothing yet" is among the better songs of this album, but her #1 "Rock N Roll" had been out of range.

Meja - Blame it on the shadows

Points: 759.9
Peak: #13
Weeks: 14
Album: -

In the late 1990's Meja had some hits outside of Sweden. Her biggest for me had always been "All'bout the money". And her duet with Ricky Martin "Private emotion" isn't forgotten too. This year she released a new single which found its way on my chart very fast. It missed my Top 10, but it is a pretty cool song you should've listened too.

Goo Goo Dolls - More of you

Points: 771.3
Peak: #16
Weeks: 15
Album: Magnetic

One of my favourite bands this year placed this wonderful song on my chart. I don't know why the Goo Goo Dolls are no hit supplier in Europe too and why had we in Austria to wait 16 years before "Iris" charted in October this year? Questions which will never answered. "More of you" is a beautiful song and the first by this band in this review.

Echosmith - Cool kids

Points: 775.9
Peak: #16
Weeks: 16
Album: Talking dreams

"Cool kids" had a long way to go. Officially released in May 2013 it unfold its impact a year later. In the following months this song with its cool sound take the world. In German, Austria and Switzerland this song hasn't been in the charts up-to-date, but airplay refers to the fact that it could be a hit in 2015.

Crystalyne - Punks don't dance

Points: 796.9
Peak: #17
Weeks: 16
Album: The remedy EP

Over the last year's I charted several songs by this Canadian band. Most of these songs have been caught in the lower part of my chart. This is song is the exception. "Punks don't dance" also debuted low, but within some weeks it entered the Top 20 where it stayed for five weeks.

Katy Perry - Unconditionally

Points: 808.4
Peak: #4
Weeks: 15
Album: Prism

The lead single from "Prism" had been "Roar" which only had minor success on my chart. Her biggest hit from the "Prism" area is "Unconditionally" which spent five weeks in the Top 10. By Mid-January it reached its peak. In generally "Unconditionally" is her biggest hit since I started charting again.

Goo Goo Dolls - Slow it down

Points: 813.2
Peak: #11
Weeks: 16
Album: Magnetic

Another song from their beautiful album "Magnetic". "Slow it down" did a little bit better than their previously mentioned "More of you", but missed the Top 10 too. This is a fact that I regret, but I can't change this fact now.

Jillette Johnson - Heathen

Points: 813.3
Peak: #11
Weeks: 16 (still charting)
Album: Water in a whale

The next song by Jillette Johnson in this countdown is "Heathen". Her album "Water in a whale" produced several hit songs for me and "Heathen" is one of them. After a slow start it reached Top 20 in October and its peak in November.
71 #60
Pink - Walk of shame

Points: 823.9
Peak: #3
Weeks: 18
Album: The truth about love

I wrote on a sooner part that Pink had no Top 10 hit this year. That's only the half truth. "Walk of shame" entered the Top 10 back in December 2013. Five of its 10 weeks Top 10 run had been in 2013. The other half in 2014. So Pink had no "only" Top 10 hit in 2014, but she had a song which had a Top 10 run in 2013 and 2014.
