Ben Montague - Love like stars

Points: 704.1
Peak: #1
Weeks: 26
Album: Tales of flying and falling

"Love like stars" is a remnant from last year. Back in 2013 this had been Ben Montague's first #1 hit on my chart from his 2nd album. It could have been easily within my Top 10, but a split record for 2013 and 2014 prevent it so it charted at #23 in 2013 and at #90 in 2014.

MKTO - Classic

Points: 707.5
Peak: #20
Weeks: 14
Album: MKTO

There hit song "Classic" had been released back in June 2013. Only at the end of March 2014 this song get a kick start for me. It took some time but in May 2014, nearly a year after its releas the song reached its peak.

Shakira feat. Rihanna - Can't remember to forget you

Points: 710.1
Peak: #10
Weeks: 14
Album: Shakira

This song has been highly anticipated by me. In the end it has nearly met my expectations. Sure after a weak start it climbed up the chart and ended in my Top 10, but a week at #10 isn't enough. Both can do better, but so far on my chart both had no bigger hit.

OBB - All eyes on you

Points: 713.2
Peak: #8
Weeks: 15
Album: -

This is one of the surprising hits. I've never listened often to Christian music, but The Oswald Brothers band aka OBB rose fast with their first big hit "All eyes on you". This catchy tune absolutely deserves to be part in this countdown.

Clean Bandit feat. Jess Glynne - Rather be

Points: 714.8
Peak: #17
Weeks: 15
Album: New eyes

If there is a song you couldn't escape this year than it is "Rather be". This is maybe the biggest hit this year. On my chart "Rather be" hadn't this success. "Rather be" needed two runs to reach my Top 20 and then it peaked at #17. Massive radio airplay helped to get to this peak and I didn't regret it.
85 #5
Hyuna - Red

Points: 722.6
Peak: #20
Weeks: 3
Album: A talk

You may love or hate this song. Hyuna - leading singer of Korean groupe 4Minute - released her first solo single since 2012. Although the theme of the song is childisch and is more a homage to herself the sound is very unique and fresh. The sound can be compared to Katy Perry's big hit "Dark horse" which I never charted. All in all the song fascinated and so all ended at #85.

Jennifer Rostock - K.B.A.G.

Points: 722.8
Peak: #10
Weeks: 12
Album: Schlaflos

"K.B.A.G." rose up to just as quickly disappear into oblivion. This critical song by Jennifer Rostock who had a #1 hit with "Ich kann nicht mehr" had the shortes complete run to reach a part within the Top 100.

Ed Sheeran - Sing

Points: 724.3
Peak: #24
Weeks: 16
Album: X

Normally "Sing" won't be found within the Top 90. A peak lower than #20 isn't a good indicator for a year-end favorite. "Sing" is the prominent exception. It spent seven weeks in the Top 30 and collected as much points as needed to get in there. So let's "Sing" a round with Ed Sheeran.

Natalia Kills - Trouble

Points: 738.8
Peak: #12
Weeks: 11 (still charting)
Album: Trouble

Back in 2013 she released "Problem" and "Saturday night" as regular singles from her 2nd album "Trouble". Early this year the title track "Trouble" followed. As I don't like these songs I didn't spent much time to find something out about her new singles. In Autumn I came upon to this beautiful single. It had a good debut, but failed to enter the Top 10.

Foxes - Let it go for tonight

Points: 741.8
Peak: #17
Weeks: 15
Album: Glorious

In Great Britian is Louisa Rose Allen better known as Foxes a star. Outside Europe's biggest island she isn't well known. Her song "Let it go for tonight" had everything to be a big hit outside her home too. Unfortunately this little gem has been overseen. Nearly by me too, but when I gave this song a chance it climbed into my Top 20.
