Week 293 – October 8th, 2016

The excitement about Anouk’s debut has settled. Now she is dominating my chart for a third week and a 2nd week in a row with a triple pack. Still leading the pack is “If I knew” (#1) followed by “Wanna little something” (#2). Together these songs spent six weeks at the top. This brings Anouk up to 25 % of the weeks topping my chart this year. “Not a lovesong” (#3) is completing the Top 5. The first of the rest is still Selena Gomez with her beautiful “Sober” (#4). For a 2nd week “Sober” is caught between four songs by Anouk. The only Anouk song within the Top 10 she is leaving behind is “Be my baby” (#5).

While the whole Top 5 is the same as last week in the 2nd part of the Top 10 only one song could hold its position. It is former #1 “Black car” (#6) by Miriam Bryant. This song is followed by the super catchy “Awesome” (#7). For German Nicole Cross “Awesome” is maybe the start of a good carrier on my chart while “Awesome” is at the moment an overseen pearl in Germany, Switzerland and of course Austria. Down one spot are “F*ck apologies” (#8) by JoJo feat. Wiz Khalifa and “Love somebody” (#9) by Aura Dione. The Top 10 is closed with the only new song in this section. US country star Cam is returning with her latest album cut from her debut album “Untamed”. The title track “Untamed” (#10) climbed up five spots to reach a Top 10 spot for the first time in its 8th week on chart.

Since this week Aura Dione isn’t the only act from Denmark on my chart. Maia released her debut single “Tordenkys” (#39, “Thunder kiss”) and finally this song is debuting on my chart. It got a solid debut within the Top 40 which is by the way the only debut within the Top 50. “Tordenkys” is a catchy song which could do well in English too. As most of the top songs on my chart are a little bit older at the moment “Tordenkys” could reach the Top 20.

Other debuts are “Adesso (ti voglio bene)” (#71, “Now (I love you)”) and “In viaggio” (#72, “Travelling”) by Emma, “Hurts” (#81) by Emeli Sandé, “By my side” (#88) by Tim Maxx feat. Mike Rossi, “Fire” (#89) by Runaway Angel and “Come around” (#96) by Daniela Andrade.
