| Kelly Clarkson – Heat Points: 1519.4 Peak: #2 Weeks: 20 Album: Meaning of life Airplay: #26 In July 2018 Kelly Clarkson released “Heat” as 3rd single from “Meaning of life”. Hardly a month after its debut on my chart “Heat” reached its peak at #2. It stayed for three consecutive weeks at the runner’s up spot and failed to do the last step. Sadly, but that’s life. Nonetheless I love this track and I’m looking forward for “I don’t think about you” which is still not ranked in this list. | |
19 | #76 #19 #33 | Andreas Gabalier – Verdammt lang her Points: 1549.6 Peak: #4 Weeks: 25 Album: Vergiss mein nicht Airplay: #20 Austrian singer Andreas Gabalier is well known since his debut in 2009. Normally I don’t listen to the kind of music (Volkstümliche Musik) he is making. So I was really surprised that I like his single “Verdammt lang her” (“Damn long ago”). Lyrically this song reminds me of Kid Rock’s “All summer long” which is still a favourite of mine. The song itself slowly rose on my chart and peaked at #4 two months after its debut.

| Taylor Swift – Don’t blame me Points: 1598.4 Peak: #3 Weeks: 23 Album: Reputation Airplay: #13 The next song in this list is the 2nd song by Taylor Swift. “Don’t blame me” has been released as a regular single, but for me this song worked very well. It debuted in June at #63 and reached its peak within my Top 3 in August. | |

| Luke Sital-Singh – Still Points: 1686.0 Peak: #1 (1) Weeks: 27 Album: Time is a riddle Airplay: #10 You now that I discovered Luke Sital-Singh very late. So it is no surprise to find a single from 2015 which is on his 2017 album “Time is a riddle”. “Still” debuted at the end of 2017 and eventually peaked at #1 in February for a single week. This song is also the first song from my airplay Top 10 in this list. | |

| Emma – Effetto domino Points: 1718.7 Peak: #1 (1) Weeks: 23 Album: Essere qui Airplay: #21 A good sign for an album I love is that songs out of this album are reaching #1. “Essere qui” (“To be here”) has multiple #1’s. The first #1 song out of this album in 2018 had been “Effetto domino” (“Domino effect”). It eventually peaked at #1 in May and it is Emma 2nd highest ranked song. | |
15 | #68 #98 #63 #65 #50 | Backstreet Boys – Don’t go breaking my heart Points: 1719.9 Peak: #2 Weeks: 25 Album: DNA Airplay: #12 I’ve not been a big fan of the Backstreet Boys, N’Sync, Take That, Caught In The Act or any other boyband in my youth. Sure during my first time when I had a personal chart Backstreet Boys had one or another hit, but definitely no song in my Top 3. So it lasted until 2018 when “Don’t go breaking my heart” was released. For me this is definitely their best song they have ever released.

| Kelly Clarkson – I don’t think about you Points: 1784.9 Peak: #3 Weeks: 25 Album: Meaning of life Airplay: #14 Kelly Clarkson is surely among my favourite artists. Unfortunately she is mostly missing my year-end Top 10 with her highest ranked song. This bitter fate also hits “I don’t think about you”. It eventually peaked at #3 for three weeks, but failed to do the last step to give Kelly Clarkson an 8th #1 on my chart. | |

| Loote – Your side of the bed Points: 1785.4 Peak: #3 Weeks: 26 Album: Single. EP Airplay: #11 Back in 2017 US duo Loote released their debut single. This single failed to enter my chart. Only their third single “Your side of the bed” got my attention. Continuously this song climbed up my chart and eventually peaked at #3. In my eyes this is the duos best song and unfortunately all other follow up singles failed to enter my chart. I hope that there will be another song by them reaching my chart, but I’m not sure if they are able to repeat this success. | |

| Matilda – You Points: 1883.0 Peak: #1 (4) Weeks: 19 (still charting) Album: Odyssey EP Airplay: #33 Norwegian singer Matilda is also a newcomer to my chart. Her single “You” from her 2018 EP “Odyssey” climbed all the way up to #1. She peaked at the top spot for four consecutive weeks. Although I’m not really into LGTBQ songs this one is quite good and deserves to be a #1 hit for me. | |
11 | #46 | Emma – Mi parli piano Points: 1893.6 Peak: #1 (2) Weeks: 22 (still charting) Album: Essere qui Airplay: #22 The last spot outside my Top 10 goes to Italian singer Emma. Her single “Mi parli piano” (“Talk to me slowly”) is also her highest ranked song in this countdown. It is such a shame that this song failed to enter my Top 10, but on the other hand there are only ten spots free for the songs I liked most in 2018. Generally it had been a though fit between this song and the song at #10. “Mi parli piano” missed this part by 10.9 points. |
