 Week 546 – August 14^th, 2021

The summer is back and a nice song for the part of the year is leading the pack. It is for a 2nd time "Sandbox love" (#1) by Alanis Morissette. I really like this song and of course her album "Such pretty forks in the road". Still in the hunt is Madeline Juno with her song "Tu was du willst" (#2, "Do what you want"). Maybe she will do the last step next week. On the other hand there is a big concurrence with "Schwarz" (#3, "Black") by LEA & Casper. "Schwarz" climbed up three spots to reach the spot in the Top 3. Next in line are former #1's "Good 4 U" (#4) by Olivia Rodrigo and "Mr. perfectly fine" (#5) by Taylor Swift.

Up two spots and standing in front of the door to the Top 5 is "Bad habits" (#6) by Ed Sheeran. It is a while ago when he was the last time in this part of the chart. Down two spots are "Electric" (#7) by Katy Perry and "Drei Uhr Nachts" (#9, "Three o'clock a.m.) by Mark Forster & LEA. Caught between these acts is Maisie Peters. Her single "Psycho" (#9) climbed up one spot is following her success with "John Hughes movie". New in the Top 10 and reaching this part for the first time is German star Sarah Connor. Her song "Alle in mir will zu Dir" (#10, "Everything in me wants to you") climbed up one spot.

As last week two songs are award with the greatest gainer of the week. The higher ranked one is "Renegade" (#34) by Big Red Machine feat. Taylor Swift. The other one is "Call on me" (#35) by Raye. For Raye her latest single could be her biggest hit for me. When you are looking over my chart you have to look outside the Top 70 to find this week's highest debut. It is "Sommer, Sonne, Depression" (#73, "Summer, sun, depression") by Madeline Juno. As always in the recent past she is definitely releasing a good song. Possibly it isn't material for a #1, but it should do well in the future.
