Another
week has gone by and Austria is going to see another lockdown. I'm
still listening only to a small amount of music, but I still have the
same #1 as last week. Ed Sheeran's "Shivers" is reigning for a third time in a row while "Parfum" (#2, "Perfume") by LEA is missing the top spot once more. As Adele
finally has released her new album "30" I naturally have listened to
it. The album isn't bad, but I've not felt the vibe as with her older
ones. On the other hand the 1st single "Easy on me" (#3) climbed up one
spot and reached the podium for the first time. "Easy on me" changed the
spot with "Wenn du mich lässt" (#4, "If you let me") by LEA. New in the Top 5 is EDM by Gabry Ponte & Henri PFR. Their song "The feeling" (#5) climbed up two spots.
For the first time in weeks there is no song by Franzi Harmsen
in the Top 5. "Nie mehr" (#6, "No more") dropped one spot which also
did her former #1 "Zweieinhalb Sekunden (#7, "Two and a half seconds").
Next in line is "Wilder days" (#8) by Morgan Wade. This song is still the highest country song in the chart. Back in the Top 10 is Emma with "Corri" (#9, "Run"). "Dopamine" (#10) by Purple Disco Machine feat. Eyelar is rounding out this week's Top 10.
The award for the greatest gainer of the week is going to Franzi Harmsen's
new single "Nein" (#27, "No"). The song climbed up 20 spots in its 2nd
charting week. Although there are 16 new songs the highest debut just
reached the Top 50. It is "Bite me" (#47) by Avril Lavigne. "Bite
me" is definitely not the expected development. On the other side it is
always nice to listen to her and as you all now I really like her
music. So it is no surprise for the most of you that she had done better
than the other debuts. The 2nd highest debut is "New shapes" (#59).
This song is a collaboration by British singer Charli XCX, French act Christine and the Queens and US singer Caroline Polachek. Charli XCX just missed the Top 20 with her recent smash "Good ones". For both other acts "New shapes" is their first chart appearance.
